Salam to all,
I am a overseas Pakistani, I want to discuss a scenario about Bahria Town, If I buy house in bahria and leave my house alone with car inside the house, will my house and car will last for a year without me or when I will come back after a year my car and house will be the property of someone else. Cause all our Pakistan if you leave your house and a car alone for few days, no guaranty you will get back your own things back. Please advice ….. How safe is bahria on this matter.

SAZEEN replied on Saturday, November 2, 2013 08:53 PM PST

bahria town is very safe because there is no involvment of punjab police.

Nadia khan replied on Saturday, November 2, 2013 10:52 PM PST

Yes bahria town is far safer than Dha, dha is open for criminals.

remove battery and lock it properly

FROM KSA replied on Sunday, November 3, 2013 10:26 PM PST

Bahria is a good safe option.
but Why would you want to leave a car parked for one year. if you are visiting pakistan for few weeks only, its better to rent a car.
Idle cars get a lot of problems like leakages, tyre deformations and hardening of hose pipes.
My suggestion: Rent a car during your stay.

In Pakistan it's very safe if you leave 1 lakh on the road and come back after days it will still be there ;)

HR replied on Monday, November 4, 2013 12:45 PM PST

Inform Bahria security department to have increased monitoring of the house on daily basis.
Don't leave your valuable items in house.
If Car engine is not ON for prolonged time then there are chances of internal corrosion in engine and tubing/piping choking. Car should be started after some time (prefered weekly) to avoid this.

Is there any rental company in Lahore which s giving car without driver?

I am living in KSA and was trying during last 3 years but failed as all are giving with driver. So I bought a corolla. Although I didn't like and wish to but for convinienxe have to for Only 2-3 weeks vacation yearly.

Amar-Kuwait replied on Monday, November 4, 2013 05:19 PM PST

Dear Mr. Khalid,
I have newly built a house in BT Lahore, Overseas A. I could not leave the house alone without anybody living in it since there is now an open access from Sector D and F side. I had to hire a couple who now live there in the servant quarter. The vehicle is totally out of question. First of all, without anybody caring for it, it would spoil. Secondly, it is not secure to keep a car in such an abandoned house where no one even on weekly basis visits.
Do not leave the house without anybody living in it.
Do not leave the vehicle without guard.
Regards,

Khan-1 replied on Monday, November 4, 2013 06:50 PM PST

MY personal experience tells me nothing goes wrong with the car if you jack it up on bricks, remove the tries and over inflate them & store them in darkest corner of the house, remove the battery and park it in shade with a nice car cover, windows properly rolled up. I am doing it for many years. On return you need new battery plus general tuning up.

As for the house CLOSE all openings(even the chimney exhaust,if steel window, the little openings for the slide, the drainage traps-ALL,Opening under the outer doors-All you can think of).Be liberal to cover all furniture with sheets of plastic. Nothing goes wrong. All you need is 3 days of dusting on return. Other issues depend on locality.

Security at Bahria Town

Dear Viewers,
Does anybody know if Bahria Town management provides security services for the houses? I mean for the houses, where the residents do not reside on permanent basis like being abroad. I yes, what are the details.
Perhaps Mr. Hussain Kaisarani knows something.
Would appreciate your valuable input.
Regards,

Hussain Kaisrani replied on Sunday, December 23, 2012 02:19 AM PST

Salaam Amar Sahib,
Thanks for remembering me.

Bahria Town Lahore Management provides the security of Safari Villas in following ways (I am not sure whether first number facility is available in all Bahria Town Lahore Sectors or not):
1. If you inform Bahria Town security office that you will not be attending your home for some specific period of time then they seal the house in your presence. They take the responsibility of taking care of the house and you are only allowed to open the seal under their supervision.

2. They install some security alarms (on your cost - approximately Rs.20,000/= per year ------ and this facility is available for each and every house in Bahria Town Lahore) along with sealing the house. The security alarms are connected with Bahria security main control room. As per Bahria's claim, their rapid response force reaches at any house within 5 minutes to control any suspicious act or trespassing.

3. Its worth mentioning that Bahria Town Lahore has installed CCTV cameras on Safari Villas streets to enhance the level of security.

Thanks.

Dear Hussain Kaisrani Sahib,
Thank you very much for your prompt response. It is good to know that such services upto certain level are available. I would have to check with BT management about further details on security of vacant houses. I shall call their office and find out.
It is always pleasure and satisfying in interacting with you on this forum.
My best regards,

adeel Sahib,
Sorry to disappoint you brother.
My information about any Rawalpindi project are VERY limited as I am neither in property business nor an investment. As I am a pioneer resident of Bahria Town Lahore so can provide first hand information about it.

DHA Phase 9 Refund for Overseas

Dear CMY & all other Brothers,

Yesterday I received my refund (Pay Order) by registered mail. I try to deposit it in my bank account here in Kuwait but I could not. Bank has refused to deposit it in my account due to my name which is printed on pay order by DHA. There is printed my name as (Iftikhar Ahmad and my CNIC No.) Bank have no concern with CNIC No.Here is Kuwait and even in all gulf countries they used to have four (4) or minimum three (3) names for your identification. We, Pakistani usually have two words of names for each person like (Iftikhar Ahmad) first Iftikhar & second Ahmad, (Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Arshad) etc. Third and fourth name we used to write as Son of/or Father Name separately. Here in the bank they must need at least third name also. Third name means full or first word of my father name which is not printed here on pay order.

I have a question for all of you, shall I send back this pay order to DHA for re-issue as per required by Kuwaiti bank. Second thing while living in overseas I would like to ask can I deposit this pay order in my bank account inside Pakistan. Otherwise what will be the other option?

A valuable advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards
:h

CMY replied on Friday, September 30, 2011 08:13 PM PST

I dont think its wise Idea to return it. Try to convince bank to ok your check for deposit. If they allowed you to come in Kuwait on first and last name they should accept it for your account as well.

Iftikhar Ahmad replied on Saturday, October 1, 2011 01:14 AM PST

Dear CMY Brother,

Thanks for your kind reply.

They don't allow any body with first and second name. Here evry one have four name on all documents. First and second is your name, third and forth name means your father's name. They combine all together to become one name on Visa, residence prmit, local kuwaiti civil ID. and on all other legal documents.

Can i deposit this in my account inside pakistan?? But i don't have there dollar account. Can it deposit in PKRs. account.

Thanks & Regards,

Iftikhar Ahmad replied on Saturday, October 1, 2011 02:58 AM PST

Dear CMY Brother,

Could you please provide me E-Mail Address of Askari Bank DHA Phase III Lahore from where the refund cheques is issued for overseas.

I hope you can do this easily.

Thanks in Advance.

Amar-Kuwait replied on Saturday, October 1, 2011 03:16 AM PST

Dear Iftikhar Ahmed
If you have a bank account in Pakistan, send the draft to Pakistan to your bank account and deposit there. Local banks in Kuwait do not entertain such cheques. If by any chance they do, they would send your cheque for collection to Pakistan. Eventually, you would get credit in you Kuwaiti account after approx. one to two months less collection charges.
Regards,
Amar-Kuwait.

jk replied on Saturday, October 1, 2011 03:34 AM PST

One can not deposit a checque in kuwait or Pakistan unless not having the same what it is written on pay order. If you are having an account in Pakistan with the same name as written on pay order, then peposit it in Pakistan.

Now if you do not have a dollar account you can open a subsidry of acocount you already have by sign a saprate application farm and by depositing initiall amount of just USD 100 for this sub account in USD.

Now you can deposit this refunded pay order in newly open dollar account other wise bank will convert it in Pak rupee own it own after collection.

No worries it will take some time but your money is not going to miss place.
