Dear All Assalam Alaikum ,
Since there is a lot of talk of Conserving energy now a days in Pakistan ,infact most of our buildings are Not at all energy efficient .I came across a website which offers free plans for energy efficient /eco friendly accomodation ,good stuff may not be able to utilize 100 % in our enviornment however the concepts is there and can be modified for our use .

Thanks for the information. The issue in our country is not how to save energy, but how to save "Stolen" Energy. The energy is lost in distribution of Electricity comes to around 40% of the total production which is covered under "Copper losses" by WAPDA.
It can be understood by an example that if a husband earns Rs. 100,000 per month and gives only Rs. 20,000/= to his wife and asks to run the house with the money. He always asks her to save money and run the house and she finds it impossible to run the house with that much of amount. Rs. 80,000/= of the money is spent / lost by her husband in different special activities. Similarly in our country as soon as we get our distribution system in line with our production, Insha Allah all our problems are solved

The Solution for how to reduce load shedding :
If and Area / Mohalla / Scheme is consuming (say) Rs. 100,000/= of electricity and the revenue WAPDA is getting is Rs. 40,000/=. It means 60% of electricity is wasted / stolen, then WAPDA must turn off the electricity of that area for 60% of time and similarly if an area is paying 90% of the revenue, then a load shedding for only 10% of time must done on that area.
In this way the residents of the area will know that how much electricity is stolen / wasted in their area due to damaged electricity meters and power theft by the blessings of line man. The residents will themselves find the culprets and will improve the revenue of the area thereby reducing the load shedding |

dear Info i lived in karachi for many years and KESC do have this system (and i suppose wapda have it as well). KESC used to recover the full amount by dividing the unmetered amount among all the users. but still they were posting losses. the other thing is that in karachi almost everyone steal electricity by using 'kunda' system, no matter u r living in lalukhet(liaqatabad) or in PECHS; but no body is interested in removing these kundas. even now 500 mega watt or more is being supplied to KESC karachi from WAPDA by doing load shedding in small towns of punjab and KESC/karachi/sind government is not willing to pay for this. there are billion of rupees pending to be paid to wapda in this respect.
you must have heard a saying that 'iss hamam meain sub nangay hain'. so when everyone is a theif who is going to pinpoint.
in our society 'choor' is shouting 'pakro pakro choor choor'. forget that in comming 100 years this country is going to improve.
question is y govt is not planning on use of nuclear power option, there is one Chashma power plant and why not develop more?????? y u r asking people to conserve. people r not living a lavish life that u r telling them to conserve.... this conservation can be asked for in devloped countries. it is just like asking people who already eat once or twice a day to eat less because we have less wheat (because of hoarding and exporting mafia). WHAT A COUNTRY! |
