WE NEED MARTIAL LAW
In order to improve the economy of Pakistan , we need martial law , very ruthless president is required, who should finish the bad guys in the madrassas, without any mercy.

MH replied on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 11:51 PM PST

It was the Martial law and some politions (Zia Bakiat) who created and supported,Politically, these people.
Zinda bad Zia-Ul-haq and his Bakiat for creating these evils.
Fundamentalism was spread purposely in the society to gain political benefits without thinking what will happen afterward with the sciety itself.

EU replied on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 12:21 AM PST

Military taking over does not mean martial law.
There had been civil martial law administrators in
Pakistan's history.
Civilian rules have been more dictatorial as compare to military rules.
I remember from last perpetual civil rules of BB and Sharif that they replaced Cheif justices as they wished, they appointed army rules as suits them most and civil rights remained at lowest.
Here we must not confuse freedom with taking law into self hands.
People of Pakistan must understand that so called democracy of Pakistan never represent the majority. Elections in Pakistan are mostly engineered.

Rehmat Ali replied on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 12:34 AM PST

Martial law is better than dirty politicians. I hate the corrupt people. Let us raise to hate the bad things and make a new society. My request to young generation also.

We have no national interests. Projects like Kalabagh ruined. We face 4500 MW huge deficit of electricity. No planning?. Complete Lawlessness in the country. Police personal servantys of Politicians. No sysytem in our offices.

Only self interesets of politician. 1000 politicians in a line in front of firing squd is one solution.

Let us wake up. hate corruption and corruptt people.

There is nothing wrong with madrassa students. It's the ELITES who have grabbed the entire resources of the nation and are spreading propaganda against the madressas to misguide and mislead the people to the wrong direction.

BRN replied on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 03:33 AM PST

Absolutely right @ Ali3. It's all our high class bullshit. It's not a common man who are wrong, it's Musharaf who just closed eye and support US in every mean. Look at Iran, they are also in neighbor of Afghanistan, same as Uzbekistan or others. they don't have such problems like we have, why????? Did we ever think why it's only
Pakistan? Coz Americans kills millions of Afghans via flying from Pakistan, that's the reality and we have to face it now.

There is just one way to stop these incidents, say bye to USA..!!!! This is the only choice we have..... otherwise we will be like Afghanistan soon... Remember these words!!!! May Allah give Hidaya to our leaders..

EU replied on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 04:06 AM PST

Dear BRN,
Pakistan's problem lies in its geography. Didn't you see what happened in recent Bangladeshi elections! a ditto copy of Pakistani elections and I hope you also remember the staged coup where elected govt. in complicity with a puppet Army cheif, killed the threatning officers! I believe about 50 high ranking officers were murdered.
Mark my words same is comming the Pakistan way... our govt. is desprate to get their grip over army and ISI let's see how they execute their plan and do they ever suceed or not?
I hope now you know similarly Iran's strength lies in its geography and its allies.

We have failed to provide them ( I mean those people living in NWFP, Northern areas, Waziristan, Swat or where ever we are blaming the fault lies; We have been busy in gaining absolute power when ever we get a chance to win few seats here and there, then comes the horse trading, then we resort to Governor raj, we are happy to slaughter our own people to make the rest of the World happy in a show of solidirity against the Fake wars waged by others. How quickly we get carried away with the propaganda war against our intersts? this is not some thing hidden, we are quick each and every thing on islam, we don't see the that this is wrong doing on the part of some one, we should not blame Islam. If a army officer voilates the constitution, does it mean it is the fault of the army, no no it is the fault of the person, he should be held responsible for it. Let us broaden our vision and thinking.

Islamabad Zone II. Just
buy somethign there and wait till 3-3 years. I had self experience in G-15. don't go for E-17 or B-17 it's far. F-15, G-16. F-17, G-17 as well G-15 still are the best places to invest. But, you have patience to wait for few years. If you need any plots in such areas the contact me write2shoaib@yahoo.com, we can help you in finding better options.

Ali3 replied on Sunday, February 15, 2009 05:03 PM PST

Don't
buy open lands, buy something with which you can do some work. If you cannot do yourself, hire someone. Open school, store, build a building, you can get many other ideas. Sorry for putting my two cents advise here, of course i don't claim to know smarter than anyone else.

CHACHA JEE, I find you a very bright and intelligent person. You are honest and have good knowledge of the market. You mock the greedy investors who have made money by exploiting poor and needy; however they can not do it any more. And CHACHA JEE you will agree that any activity which does not positively contribute to society can not generate halal income. Real estate business by not increasing the welfare of the socity had to see its dooms day. I hope CHACHA JEE you agree with me.

Ali3 replied on Monday, February 16, 2009 12:40 AM PST

I agree with Mrs. R.S. In many countries of the world open lands are almost free, provided by the state to the citizens for
commercial or residential use. It's the cost of materials, labor etc that's the actual cost of the house. If you notice, labor and materials are many times cheaper in Pakistan yet house prices are more than most countries. It's because more than 60% of the cost is the price of the land! So what's wrong with this? Well, it shows that we can afford to pay millions for open lands (our country is 8lacs sq. kms. there's no shortage of open lands) but we cannot pay good salaries to labor or employees. We buy the best most expensive Burma Teak wood but haggle over petty sums with the carpenter.

In other countries where labor salaries are high, it contributes positively to the social and economic fabric of the country. People are more or less of equal standards, unlike Pakistan where salary difference in low and high skill jobs is several hundred times! This in turn promotes elitism and the love of elitism, the real disease we are inflicted with.

Ali3 replied on Monday, February 16, 2009 12:47 AM PST

The reason why the tradition of "investing" in open lands as if they are bonds is flourishing in our country is because it's the easiest quickest way to become rich for bureaucrats and politicians. That's why they deliberately create an artificial shortage and deliberately let the practice of false documents and frauds by patwaris continue. Thus, they make a few societies like DHA where documents cannot be faked which in turn forces people to be blackmailed into
buy these properties, or paying Rs.5000 as processing fees for ballots, because they are deliberately left with no other option.

Many people have even regretted why they worked so hard all their lives and worked, set up factories, provided jobs, etc., when all they had to do was to buy some lands and go to sleep and would have been better off!

2- Infalation is 28%, so even 18% increase still not making relatives and families to save any money for investments.

Its not the duty of foreign nationals to invest in
Pakistan, its our duty to make it good for the investment.

And these market conditons are good for buying low..
The only thing is we dont know that market has hit the bottom yet or not.

Look at the Stock exchanges all over the world. Prices are 50-80% low in just one year. And most of the people are investing becuase they belive buying low is the best way to make money.

do your research...
life is too short to take baby steps...

You can buy the toys made in china, cloths made in italy, and car made in Japan, but if u live in Pakistan, than you have to construct a house here and you just cant bring a foreign land here ...
i hope you guys will get my point.

Investor will invest money in a place where he thinks his money is safe and he will get good profit on his money. Do you think it applies for Pakistan?

See how zardari and company are running the country , slowly loosing country to Taliban. What positive economic steps have been taken by government to increase the chances of investors to come?

Secondly with the global turbulence in economy investors will keep their money in cash and in dollars, not in rupees.

FORGET ANY IMPROVEMENT or change for the next 4 years. After that we will see if anything happens.

Property dealers should think of starting some other business, they are in wrong business.

There has been slight increase in remittance because of high inflation in Pakistan, A thousand rupee does not buy you the same items anymore, you need 1500 instead and who will send that money overseas Pakistanis !!

As long as the Taliban continues to take control of
Pakistan inch by inch, marla by marla, day by day, the foreign investment will diminish dollar by dollar, rupee by rupee, day by day.

It is not possible to understand how the Taliban rule can be allowed to spread and grow. I have a friend living in Peshawar who is scared for his life and family. If a woman is seen riding in the front seat of the car, the Taliban stop the car and beat the driver. What kind of country is Pakistan becoming ??? Who would ever invest in Peshawar. And how much longer until this insanity reaches Punjab or Sindh?

If Pakistan cannot fight and defeat the Taliban, a war with India will be laughable and over in about 45 minutes.

There strategy is to gather all the criminals(In pakistan, most every town has a place where people don't pass late night)& give them money weapons, and let them to implement (FAKE) Shariah. & many people who are dumb enough to follow what exactly islam is, fall for it. & accept it as real shariah. Main points are to think about;

1. Why exactly they are trying to implement a shariah, which they didn't implemented in Afghanistan. (I think they are only trying to defame islam & taliban's name)
2. Who is providing them Weapons & money?
3. After knowing most of the facts, why our government (Hypocrite) is still going towards our known enemies

Start to do some work, rather than doing speculative work. Do any hard work, and Inshallah Allah (SWT) will bless you with wealth more than you had before. Even a rerhiwala earns around Rs.15000 a month. If you are doing a job, then you can keep money with the National Savings Behbood scheme, the pay 16.80% and profit is exempt from tax. Or you can find a partner who will work on your behalf. In this way, both will benefit. Think long term.

Khayyam replied on Thursday, February 5, 2009 11:18 PM PST

Chacha Gi,

Please do NOT jump from any minaar. Life is too precious. I hope you were joking, as taking own's life will not be forgiven by Khuda-Wand-Karim. We will make dua for you Insha-Allah. For now do not invest anymore in property.

Think positive for others u will be relaxed or just visit any near by jhggi colony and see how they are living.

well, I guess there are some things that are beyond anyone's control and that is called luck. Sometime you take every precaution but things still turnout to be bad. Just think long term, I am sure coming days will be better.

I won't recommend jumping off Minar-i-Pakistan as Minari-i-pakistan may crash just like real estate market, and jumping off minar is not solution to anything.

Yes I still own all this and I will wait for few more days... maybe I will not jump from Minare pakistan... main tao rail kee patri par laat jaoun gaa... khana saath lay jauoon gaa ... agar train late hoa gai toa bhook naa lag jai..

It is amazing that many of us working hard and struggling and we don't consider ourselves unlucky. You have quite much property all over the world and you still think of yourself "unlucky". I truy belive in luck, but also planning and home work also deliver too. Take loss and trying again and I am sure you will just fine.

Take care!

Chacha G,

Your post is funny and at the same time sad too. I would say try hard on your side and then rest leave it for God. May be this money is not in your “Mukadder”.

I would strongly suggest that donate some money for Sadka and Zakat.

May Allah shower his blessing on you!

Mohsin replied on Friday, February 6, 2009 08:26 AM PST

Dear Uncle / Chacha ji As salamualaikum I fully support the comments of Mr. Hamid from Toronto. Please pay your Zakat and Sadaqat on deserving.

In Quran, Allah Taala says "If you pay Saqat / Zakat :

1. Day
2. Night
3. Openly
4. Hidden

Then all your fears and sorrows will be finished and you'll be rewarded heavily by Allah Taala" (Surah Baqarah)

Insha Allah Taala, you will be compensated as soon as you start paying Zakat / Sadaqat. This phenomenon is a living Miracle (Moajza) from Allah Taala. May Allah accept our deeds

Pakistan are down the drain. Bought when dollar was at 60 not its around 80, price is still the same in rupees and with additional 30% inflation, its pretty much gone. BUT I have faith in ALLAH, in some fasion he is returning me. In this critical economic times when I see lay offs left/right, I am still on the job (thanks ALLAH). I am healthy, my family is healthy and I have there respect and love. What else?? :) so chil buddy

Chuchcha Jaan
My advice is
sell everything and buy a house in phase five (5 marla to 2 kanal) and buy a small commercial plot. Build a plaza and get a franchise from McDonalds or H. Karim Baksh or Subway (they had their ad recently in newspapers for the same). There is a lot of opportunity in phase 5 with lots of houses and no shops yet.
Chuchchi jaan can cook fresh roties and send you on the shop with mukhkhan and everything.
Live happily everafter

Azad replied on Friday, February 6, 2009 03:28 AM PST

I think it would be useful for people to give facts and support their opinions with facts or logic rather than to give silly opinions. This is not directly at anyone particular but I am getting fed up with people on this forums trying to portray opinions as facts, which leaves the reader none the wiser and even more confused than before. One makes
investment based on facts and logic rather than instinct and even that of someone else.

Habib replied on Friday, February 6, 2009 02:16 PM PST

Most of Projects in Ajman has stopped, but I dont know about shami Towers. Emirates city is better than others but still far from completion. I think work will be stuck for long time. Other projects like Marmooka city etc never started at all. Other problem is infrastructure like elctrict, water and sewage people say it will also take time as there was no concrete planning for that

Muhaq-qiq replied on Friday, February 6, 2009 02:41 PM PST

AOA to all,
Nakheel has already gone on hold for the water front projects costing around $75billions.
Rufi and others from
Pakistan has yet done nothing there but has grabed money as they did in Pakistan.
Abu dhabi also started feeling heat.
But hopefully there would,nt be such thing like "Fraud" as some mentioned here.

Jameel replied on Saturday, February 7, 2009 12:52 AM PST

Nearly 53 percent of the UAE’s development portfolio, worth a combined $582bn, has been suspended as the construction industry grapples with the country’s dramatic real estate crash.

http://www.arabianbusiness.com/545802-52-of-uaes-construction-projects-suspended
If you have paid 1/2 of Money and your Prject is supended then what else is Fraud??

Azad replied on Saturday, February 7, 2009 04:40 AM PST

I have taken the problem to read your link. I however form a different opinion. The demand would diminsh because of the world financial difficulties, therefore they have decided to delay $582bn, of construction activity. The affected projects would most likely be the ones that have not got off the ground yet, and are still at the drawing stage. This seems a prudent approach as if all these projects came online in the existing environment then it would lead to a glut in the market. However $500bn of construction activity is still taking place. Now how many countries are seeing that level of activity in the current environment?

I doubt that people would have paid anything or are certainly not the 50% of the costs the projects that are delayed. But if you use that yardstick then all the projects in
Pakistan are a fraud as they are always delayed and never delivered on the sceduled time.
