What impact would upcoming Malls would have on prices of commercial property in DHA? At least three malls are coming up in DHA apart from packages mall; mall in DD phase 4, phase 5 and phase 6.

Sir any type of infrastructural development always have a positive impact on surrounding areas, So you should expect a good appreciation in prices.

Malls shall have negative impact on regular commercial plazas rental income for 4m and 8m. This shall result ultimately the negative impact on the prices of these commercial properties. But 2m sector shops will gain as the purpose of such shops is entirely different from that of 4m, 8m.

I will also disagree with mubeen Asghar . The malls will definitely give a negative setback to commercial plots 8-m and 4-m. I have witnessed it alot of times. Recent example is of emporium mall initially all brands were near shoukat khanum to wapda town round about and the demands of the plots were very high so was the rental income. I lived there for about 5 years and usually go there for shopping and it was always very crowded. But with opening of emporium mall I have passed that place number of times and believe me 70% customers are less than before most of them are sitting idle with no much customers just people find it easy to shop all brands at one place instead of going door to door or for drive of 2 min from one brand to another. And you can eat as well the food courts is another reason.
