There is no question of testing anybody's loyalty or priority here. What is good for the country, for the masses, for the systems should be supreme. However there should be checks and balances on every institution. All should function within one's domain and not transgress on others. Those in power should be responsible, accountable and liable for their actions. Do all Pakistanis agree that Democracy is the best form of Government for them. Debatable. Is Presidential form of Government better as like the US or is Parliamentary from better like the UK. Debatable again. There are pros and cons in every system. It is what we, the masses choose to adopt and select. We exercise the right to vote in every election, yet we see the same people being elected over and over again. Those who are tried and tested and failed to deliver should be discarded as happens in other Democracies. However the opposite happens in Pakistan.I am no supporter of PML-N. Remember Allah bestows leaders same as the people. We have to also set our own house in order. If we start at individual level, the change will collectively change the destiny and direction of our Country. Lets resolve to set aside our differences, promote unity, eradicate the culture of power and influence, encourage merit based selection and election and strengthen our Institutions. Radical changes are required before the next elections to ensure transfer of power to the rightly chosen candidates. Otherwise the vicious cycle will continue. Lets become a nation for once and not a crowd. Educate the people, increase awareness, apprise them of their rights and duties, conduct campaigns and lastly come out in full strength and support of your chosen candidates during election times. Sitting at home will not solve the problem. Togetehr we can and together we will change the future of Pakistan, In Sha Allah. |
