For example, a property previously valued at 2.08 Crore now has a reduced FBR value of around 1.46 Crore after valuation adjustments. Under the old system, sellers paid around 936,000 Rupees in tax, but under the new system, the tax is reduced to approximately 401,500 Rupees. Similarly, buyers also benefit from reduced tax liability, saving over 129,000 Rupees in this example.

These reforms are expected to increase property market activity, attract investors, and improve affordability for genuine buyers. Additionally, further relief is expected in the upcoming Punjab budget, particularly in stamp duty and provincial charges, which could further reduce transaction costs.
