Rawalpindi Ring Road Anticipated Launch in August


Rawalpindi: Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the advancement of the 38 km-long Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR), sharing that 12% of the development work has been completed. The project is slated for completion by August 2024, with Chief Minister Naqvi commending the efforts of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). Emphasizing the urgent need for the project, he highlighted the Ring Road's potential as a significant driver of regional development.


During his visit to the site, Chief Minister Naqvi inspected the ongoing construction of a bridge on Soan Bridge and was briefed by the FWO on the swift progress of the Ring Road development in Rawalpindi. Originally proposed in 1991 with an estimated length of 74 km, the RRR has now been adjusted to a 38 km stretch.

Acknowledging public inconvenience during development, Chief Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of project completion despite disruptions. He commended the team working on the initiatives and urged them to meet deadlines.


The Rawalpindi Ring Road, captured in various pictures along its length, is rapidly progressing and holds substantial potential for economic development in the region.

CDA Initiates Automation of Property Records for the Past 9 Years to Prevent Fraud Cases


Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced its decision to move forward with the much-anticipated automation of residential and commercial property records in the federal capital, as reported in a news article on January 4.


CDA Chairman Captain (R) Anwarul Haq recently chaired the CDA Development Working Party, which, among other projects, approved a PKR 170 million PC-1 for the automation initiative. The meeting was attended by officials from the Finance, Planning, and Interior Ministries.


The automation project's contract will be awarded to a government firm on a government-to-government basis. The selected firm is tasked with digitizing the records of 45 million papers within two years.


Furthermore, the contracted firm will be responsible for maintaining and operating the automated property record system. This strategic move is expected to address concerns related to fraudulent activities and enhance the efficiency of the CDA's property management systems.
