ISLAMABAD: Under the leadership of the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approval of 10 development projects totaling Rs.87.17 billion on Monday. (Reported by news source)

The forum approved the building of Pun Panjgur-Gichak-Awaran Road, District Awaran, at a cost of Rs.29,638 million, the reconstruction of Mangopir, at a cost of Rs.3,190 million, and the reconstruction of Turbat-Mand Road from M-8 to Iranian Border-Radeeq.

Additionally, it approved the completion of the Niheng Bridge at Rodbun, District Kech, which cost Rs.673 million, the 26 MW Shagharthang Hydropower Project, which cost Rs.17,972 million, and the SIRA, which cost Rs.2,043 million.

The Secretary of the Planning Ministry, the Chief Economist, members of the Planning Commission, and representatives from the other ministries and divisions all attended the meeting.

Rawalpindi Master Plan: Completion of traffic survey of 20 Roads
The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has requested the consultant – Rawalpindi Master Plan Mott MacDonald Pakistan Private Limited – to complete the traffic survey of 20 roads and squares in Rawalpindi, according to news published in the leading newspaper on February 5.

The consultant has requested the traffic police’s help in conducting the study before finalizing the traffic engineering plan under the Rawalpindi Master Plan project. It was mentioned that the consultant requires the police’s help to count the number of vehicles plying on the roads and conduct sample interviews of the motorists and commuters.

In the meeting, the roads and squares have been identified after a detailed discussion. The consultant will finalize the areas for the study soon. The spokesperson (whose name was disclosed) mentioned that the entry and exit points of the city will be inspected to gather data on public transport and vehicles. He went on to say that the work on the master plan has been started and in the first phase, data collection for traffic and roads will be completed.

The garrison city has four major problems that lead to increased traffic; the lack of parking space or plaza, encroachments, poor traffic management, and unplanned public transport. He highlighted that traffic management and transportation studies are crucial components of the master plan. He went on to say that the surveys are required to assess the traffic patterns and loads. Moreover, the spokesperson stated that after the master plan, the city will be divided into zones for residential, commercial, green areas, and industry.

The Water and Sanitation Agency in Lahore has planned to install a new sewage system in the Gulberg area as part of the LDA Master Plan 2050.

As per the details, the plan includes replacing old sewerage lines in areas like Main Market, Mini Market, Center Point, Ghalib Market, Gaddafi Stadium, and Firdous Market.

The project is estimated to cost 4.75 billion PKR and will include a temporary wastewater processing plant near Kalma Chowk and a permanent one near Ring Road that can handle 2,000 cusecs of grey water daily.

Once the project is finished, it will be enough for the needs of the area until 2050.

It is important to note that Gulberg is a highly populated area in Lahore with many high-rise buildings and is home to the government’s Central Business District project.

DHA Multan Management Offers Direct Sales of Residential & Commercial Plots | Rumanza Golf Community

Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Multan management has offered direct sales for residential & Commercial Plots in the Rumanza Golf Community, and commercial plots in various sectors.

The direct sale ceremony is scheduled for February 16 and a briefing session will be held on February 13 to provide details about the sale process.

The administration has stated that the down payment for the plots must be made by March 31, 2023.

The residential plots available for sale in Rumanza and 2-marla commercial plots in different sectors will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, giving interested buyers the opportunity to secure their desired property.

It is important to mention that the DHA administration has expressed its commitment to elevating the living standard of its residents through initiatives that aim to improve the services offered to them.

Earlier, DHA established a complimentary bus service to serve the students who reside in the housing project.

This transportation will run between DHA Multan and Chungi #9, and will be offered free of charge.

LAHORE: On Friday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a ruling preventing the Lahore Construction Authority (LDA) from working on parallel construction projects alongside key city thoroughfares. (Reported by news source)

Justice Shahid Karim ordered the LDA to cover nine key roadways with vegetation and rooftop gardening during a hearing on an unlawful building issue and to hire the best environmental experts to help the city overcome its heat wave.

The Director General (DG) of the LDA, Aamir Ahmad Khan, testified in court and gave conclusions on the illegal structures and the environment. Justice Karim instructed the LDA to start a new project and to plan for climate change to avoid heat waves after the current project was finished.

The DG informed the court that the LDA is taking steps to improve the environment of the city, including enhancing the main thoroughfares in Allama Iqbal Town and Johar Town. In order to properly support the LDA, the court ordered related institutions to fully support Aamir Ahmad Khan’s efforts.

KARACHI: According to the manufacturers the Prices of steel bars, the lack of raw materials, and the current state of the economy are to blame for the price increase of Rs.12,000 per ton that brought steel bar prices to an all-time high of Rs.288,500 per ton. (Reported by news source)

Dealers in the Lahore region have been informed by Amreli Steel Limited (ASL) of a new pricing of Rs 288,000 per ton for 9.5-10mm size and Rs 286,000 for 12mm and above size.

As of February 2, the rates for steel bars in the 9.5–10 mm and 12 mm and above sizes in the Islamabad region are Rs 288,500 and Rs 286,500, respectively. Due to a lack of raw materials in the nation, the company informed its clients that it would not be accepting any new orders.

Altaf Tai, the chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers, claimed that due to the continually rising costs of construction materials, particularly steel bars, builders and developers had to halt projects costing billions of rupees and thousands of people had lost their employment.
