Property Tax Burden.,

From June 2016.
According to sources, property transactions will be taxed at 5% for tax filers and at 8% for tax non-filers. Clearly 1 caror plot will cost 8% + 1% commission + transfer fee + misc= 11+ lac.

Please comment how do you see this will effect?

In such a scenario, short term investors will suffer a lot ...in fact short term investment will cease to exist!
However prices may suffer as some people will try to stay away from investment in property...
But such a tax is unlikely to increase to such a huge proportion!

It would be very good move by the tax man. A lot of revenue would be generated by the Government. And it will discourage speculative short term investments in property. The property insanity will decrease to some extent. Good for common man earning in Pakistan and wishing for a living in slightly better environment.

Who will determine property value. If this applies, it will be on DC value. Such tax is already there.
