Agreement - A Win-Win Situation for Investors and the Govt.,

The successful negotiation and agreement with Govt. regarding Taxes is really a winning situation for the investors under the current scenario.

Fair Market Value is better for us as a tax payer rather than current DC Rates. You would not pay any Gain Tax if you buy and sell s property in the same financial year as Fair Market Value will remain the same. Gain Tax is imposed on the difference between Purchase and Sale Prices.

But if we want to maintain DC Rates, then more of our white money will become black as we would be posing to buy and sell your property at (less) DC Rates rather than Fair Market Rate.

The real issue is not the New Tax Rates, as they would not make much difference as compared to Previous Tax Rates. But the real issue is the confusion among investors regarding additional amount of tax they would have to pay in a single property transaction.

Fortunately, the new agreement with Govt. has cleared the dust, and the situation remained almost the same with just a little more taxes.

But unfortunately, due to ill informed discussions by some of the members are maintaining and creating further confusion. I would request my friends to avoid adding confusion based on assumptions and unfounded apprehensions.

The real confusing is that we don't ve to pay if we buy or sell within a year time and our money would remain white. I would say this biggest self deception we have at this stage.

Please read link below & see what FBR doing in Karachi.

Ahmad Hassan Sb,

Was an individual's money white before introduction of this new Fair Market Rate, when there was only DC Rate?

Weren't the DC Rates creating more black money?

Tell me how the application of Fair Market Rate would make more money black as compared to application of applying DC Rates?

Confusion wouldn't help anyone, including your goodself, as attempts to reduce property prices is bound to shake the whole economy, and nobody will be a winner!

No one can increase or decrease price here, especially an ordinary person like me. These were CMY words in one of audio that paying taxes based on DC value is technically converting our white money to black :).

He can endorsed his words or further clarify. But this is the reality that is not going to change.

Ahmad Hassan Sb, Please apply your own mind and you will see that DC Rates were a bigger problem.

But, its better to take the words of CMY and accept that its a better thing to have Fair Market Rate than the DC Rates. So you must be happier now, rather than complaining.

You should know that playing with the sentiments is a bigger problem than the reality you are talking about. The reality is that no big change has occurred in taxes, but you trying to multiply the reality (new taxes rates) to 100.

This forum is the top place for property discussion for millions of Pakistanis from around the globe, and your distorted reality can certainly influence several readers who do not have time to study issues deeply.

So kindly refrain from distorting the reality.

Dear Tahir SB, This forum is open for millions to agree or disagree with ones opinion, at the end everyone takes own decisons. I agreed with you that everything is same but FBR rates that introduced in new tax law. Let not the praise be before the victory & wait for notification. As of today both FBR or DC values seems to me agree like clocks of London. Either one write deed based on FBR value or DC values at the FBR going is behind investors to receive gain tax. I could be mistaken but it will be clear very soon.
