Kindly (anyone) throw some lights to start a construction business in Lahore. how to start. Pls share your best practices.
I live in Jeddah. Want to come back to Pakistan and start the construction business. My target market are the expats living abroad and cannot construct their houses due to reason 1 or 2 or 3 etc.... hope to have great response when i ll start.
pls share your experiences. how is this line. I am confident that i can do this biz with quality, honesty and can earn fair money for my family and can win my clients at the same time.

Do you have any prior construction experience? The challenge is all about handling the various kinds of labour that are involved. You will not cheat your clients, but they will do it on your behalf unless you are experienced and smart and talented enough to control them.
If you have no experience, then come back and first construct something for yourself. That will be your real teacher and then you can know the costs and timelines of doing things.

Aoa, Whatever you do, that is different but don't ever disclose how much you have as a total. Don't cheat anyone but but take care of what you have. Don't find partners. Try not to invest more than 40%.
Take minimum two to three months as an observer then see what is matching with you.
Best in my opinion start from 3 or 5 Marla house on Labor rate basis on plots having good locations. Never give too much advance to any party(very very important). Payment must not be more than the works done.

HM has good advice while KM Siddiqu has explained it further. Based on my personal recent experience in Lahore with the contractor; ou will be dealing with the most dishonest people in construction industry so be very careful and watchful, if you can........ |

All Advices for me are very useful from Hm,Wajahat, KM, MIT. Every opinion of yours is based on practicals. Hm in fact I have the same plant to construct for me and then to start on small scale as KM mentioned for 3 and 5 marla. Payments advices were awesome :). Yes MIT I have to be very careful. But the bottom line from all of your opinions is that the construction line is do-able and can generate reasonable profits. Nobody of you discouraged the idea of starting business in this line which is a healthy indicator for me. Thanks and God bless you all.
