
National Highway Authority approves 26.67% higher budget for Highway Construction
ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board approved the award of works for “Dualization and Improvement of Existing N-50 from Yarik-Sagu-Zhob: Package-I: which is 26.67% above the Engineer’s Estimate of Rs.18.029 billion. (Reported by news source)
The Board also recommended that the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approved the revised PC-I for “Dualization & Improvement of Existing N-50 from Yarik – Sagu – Zhob including Zhob Bypass (210 Km) at a Cost of Rs. 81.310 billion”. The Board issued a directive to stop the practice of creating umbrella (global) PC-I.
The NHA F.Y. 2022–23 Annual Maintenance Plan is being prepared by the Road Asset Management Division (RAMD). Meetings for stakeholder consultation were scheduled in Lahore and Karachi since they were mandated under the Road Maintenance Account (RMA) Rules.
The National Highway Safety Ordinance 2000’s (Schedule-VI) allowable load restrictions were adopted by the Board unanimously, with a directive that the affected offices undertake an immediate campaign to educate road users.
