PKR Strengthens Against US Dollar, Prompting Currency Adjustments on December 21
The value of the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has surged against the US Dollar (USD), resulting in a subsequent decline in the USD's value across both the interbank and open market landscapes, as reported on December 21. On this day, the USD witnessed an 11-paisa reduction, settling at PKR 282.79, in contrast to the previous day's closing rate of PKR 282.90. Concurrently, the open market registered a 25-paisa decline, setting the USD's value at PKR 284.25.
The currency adjustments were not exclusive to the USD, as other major currencies also underwent notable changes. The Euro experienced a reduction of PKR 1, reaching PKR 309, while the Pound saw a dip of PKR 1.5, stabilizing at PKR 358.50. The Emirati Dirham demonstrated a 40-paisa decrease, reaching PKR 77.60, and the Saudi Riyal experienced a 20-paisa reduction, concluding at PKR 75.70.
