Why This Crackdown is Necessary: Protecting Public Spaces

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its campaign due to significant legal and urban planning violations found in local housing schemes. As shown in the public notice in image_9fc017.jpg, the primary drivers for this action include:

Encroachment on Green Spaces: Buildings are being illegally constructed on land specifically earmarked as "GREEN" areas within official layout plans.

Illegal Use of State Property: In many cases, such as the "Tele Gardens Housing Scheme," the land in question had already been legally transferred to the CDA as of June 24, 2005.

Unauthorized Allotments: Any private allotment or transfer of these public building areas is considered strictly ILLEGAL.

Lack of Regulatory Oversight: Many structures are being erected without the mandatory approval of building plans from the CDA, violating the ICT Building Control Regulations, 2020 (amended in 2023).

This campaign serves as a critical move to reclaim land intended for public amenities and to ensure that housing societies adhere to the layout plans approved as far back as 2005.
