I would appreciate if Brothers could advise me on the following matter.
My 2 Kanal house is under construction at Valancia Town and structure is almost built. Now the Sanitary & Wood work has to be started. My Architect advised me to Purchase Sanitary(all bath rooms items including Jacuzzis etc & Other Materials like Hinges, locks etc from Dubai because it is much cheaper as compare to Pakistan for the same quality.
I asked my Architect to send me a list of items and i would purchase from here but he says you won't be able to purchase as per colour schemes and specs required by him. Instead, he is suggesting that he would come down to Dubai( on my expense around Rs 100K ) and help me in purchasing the right products.
My qustion to Dear Brothers is that Is it advisable & feasible for me to bring him down to Dubai for this purpose ? Azeez-UK replied on Thursday, February 5, 2009 07:01 AM
your architect is just looking for a paid holiday in Dubai. Act sensibly. |

ASA, There are always some people in back home, who are looking for naive and simple hearted ex-pats to suck money from. Be Care full. I doubt dubai is cheaper than Pakistan plus Rs100000. |

But can we really buy the required stuff from Pakistan and why is it more expensive in Pakistan even when it is of not same quality. Internet could be one way of ordering but than you are stuck with what you recieve. IMO, 100K is no big deal for the big responsibility which Architect offer. |

Being familiar with both the markets, I would suggest Dubai as a better, if quality and design matters you. But, It may not be very much beneficial price wise. Please consider transport/duties in your etc. in your calculation as well. |

farooq bhai have you any idea of the custom on that kind of material if you import from dubai ..btw dubai is not cheeper than PK ...so at the end of the day the price will be higher...besides that i dont believe that you cant buy everything in pakistan...in my opinion you can also buy that quality in PK which is not even available in europe |

I am not builder nor rchitect even not a businesman.. I am a salried person and advised what I sencerely think....Mr. Farooq I will take my Architect to Dubai or any other country If the cost of my house is mear one crore Rs.. one % is nothing for a good home |
