Overseas pakistani Failed to show Courage

As Waqar said that Overseas Pakistanis can play better role in Pakistan development while they are working abroad. I am pretty sure every single overseas Pakistani is not only supporting his close family (Brother, Sister, Nephews Nieces) but also supporting far relative families (first cousins, uncles and aunts) as well. I would bluntly say that overseas Pakistanis are the back bone of different social work projects in Pakistan.

For few weeks, I have seen enough cursing and bashing for my home land (Pakistan). I understand that several people are suffering there in the hands of elite class but I humbly request to everyone, please please do not use bad words for your country. Yes political system is bad, social system is bad, there is no justices but believe me your identity is as a Pakistani. Please please do not use Pakistan as a punching bag or to vent on your fully loaded garbage truck.

I totally understand my fellow brothers’ frustration but please do not loose your temper on this forum and try to avoid abusive language as much as you can.

Here are my 2 cents regarding what the overseas Pakistanis can do for their homeland.

- Support your close family so they can get a good education. Support your nephews and nieces to get a good education.
- Make sure your family is not involved in religious fanatic things like supporting Taliban, conflict of Shia- Sunni. Help them to come out of the poverty. Believe me if you cannot control these fanatic people, God forbid one day this will knock your door too. BTW, it is premature to say anything about the Liberty attack but all the leads are going toward LeT. There is no doubt that Islam is the best religion in the World and its have worse followers.
- Support social work projects in Pakistan. This can be done by supporting following NGOs
i) Abdul Sattar Edhi
ii) Imran Khan
iii) Ansar Burni etc.
- Create your own NGO, yes I can help you financially as well as emotionally. We can work on education and poverty projects. Few months ago, Imran Khan was in Toronto, every single fund raising dinners were sold out. Several my friends could not get the tickets.
- When we talk about the politics, let’s be fair with everyone. We should talk with facts and figures. Honestly even you cannot win political debate with logical thoughts.
- Support Imran, Edhi, and Asghar Khan if you can.
- There are a lot of things can be done for the social work in FATA areas. No doubt they are illiterate and poor people and you cannot win their heart by using force. Go into their level and win their heart and soul. I know this will be an easy task but ..

Brothers, trust me honesty and positive thoughts will not only solve your own problems but also help the people of Pakistan.

I got better identity in USA and other foreign countries than in my own country, was treated better, equally by those people, despite me being from a different race, religion, country. These are the facts of life. Please don't try to brainwash us again with emotional slogans. Facts are facts.

This is useless and hopeless discussion.

Faisal Naseer (Ali3) replied on Friday, March 6, 2009 11:19 AM

Dear Brothers, I mean no harm, nor do i wish to be negative, it's my experience of all my life and analysis of real problem being faced by Pakistan and Pakistanis that makes me speak like this. I am EXTREMELY patriotic Pakistani, and that's why i am more bitter at the condition of Pakistan today. It's becoming worse and worse with time. There is no doubt in my mind that Pakistanis and not USA/Israel/India are responsible for our problems. The elites like to invent new and new slogans to emotionally blackmail people with so that they can keep working as slaves while the elites keep on looting.

Again, Sir, please forgive me, I can speak on and on. But is anyone listening? We have lost our identity as Pakistanis in the world. Today even third world countries don't issue us visas. Our literacy rate is lowest in the world. Our drinking water is not fit for animals to drink. But the elites keep feeding us to go on and on and on in this way, because this is the only way the Yazidi system can continue too.

I can write ten pages about Pakistan and it's real problems right now, but then people will again tell me to shut up and don't give advise and lectures.

I'm sure Mr. Hamid Sheikh means good for Pakistanis. His intentions are good.

Faisal Naseer (Ali3) replied on Friday, March 6, 2009 11:40 AM

Again i ask for forgiveness from Mr. Hamid Sheikh for posting a negative remark on his positive post. You are trying to do something positive for Pakistan and I should have supported it. Please don't feel discouraged.

I'm not justifying it just telling the reason that it's because of bitterness, I've also tried to do a lot of things for Pakistanis, but have lost hope now.
