IP:
P.P.P. govt will not restore C.J. Iftikhar to the position of Chief Justice, because as soon as he comes into power, he will rightly disqualify NRO and hence, Zardari, Musharraf, Rehman Malik and Prime Minister will be shown the exit, paving way for fresh elections, new P.P.P leadership to emerge and PML-N being a strong contestant for win.

P.P.P. seems to now believe that they can form govt in Punjab along with PML-Q, hence they can do without C.J. Iftikhar, and ignore public voices. Afterall, Musharraf and Q Party openly say that they have nothing to do with long march and present judiciary is legal.

But this is the trap which Zardari continues to get himself into. The majority of pakistani want independent judiciary, and present setup cannot last for long, as its not based on fundamentals.

The whole drama and tug of war is between the forces which ultimately want to indemnify Musharraf and others who want to hold him accountable for his 9 year rule period and an absolute free judiciary in Pakistan, which if implemented, will certainly expose and lead to a wash of most corrupt civil and other personalities living in pakistan and overseas.

A new hope and a much stronger pakistan is on its way very soon. Last nail in the coffin is what can be expected by end March.

Good analysis.

Do not agree with you as you said:

""" The majority of pakistani want independent judiciary, and present setup cannot last for long, as its not based on fundamentals. ""

Go to the streets and ask people. People are perhaps more annoyed with the governer rule, rather restoration of CJ. Why didn't Nawaz sharif started this long march 3-months back, why now he & his brother is disqualified ?

Do not make wrong perceptions about future, u seem like living in a fair world that future will be bright after this government. You were the same people, who promised that after musharraf next government will be very good. Try to live in real world and make analysis which are factual not which suits your heart.

The Intellectual replied on Monday, March 9, 2009 07:12 AM

Ali,

When you speak, please talk logic. On which night did you have a dream that you imagined that I was one of those advocating that after Musharraf, a better govt will emerge. This is not a a whole democratic govt as yet, this is the left overs of Musharraf. A free 100% democracy is on its way. A judge should not have political appointments, but unfortunately, thats what zardari is heavily inducting presently. How on earth can you expect those judges to be neutral in their verdicts?

As I said earlier, the implementation of free judiciary shortly will expose and lead to a wash out of most corrupt civil and other personalities living in pakistan and overseas, and if you are one of them, then be it.

Dear Ali,

I think u can express ur feelings even being polite and respectful to others. Try this , I hope it will make the things easier to say and easier to understand.

Expat replied on Monday, March 9, 2009 08:15 AM

What does it means when you say ''Musharaf will be shown exit''?
Musharraf have no role in present rule. He is retired govt. officer and as per constitution cannot assume any political position for a defined period.

The Intellectual replied on Monday, March 9, 2009 09:06 AM

hahahaha Mr. Expat, you sound funny when using the word constitution. As per constitution, a serving military person cannot assume any government position which musharraf did. Anyway, answering you, the meaning of "Musharraf will be shown exit" means PML-Q will be shown exit, all their policies are still guided by musharraf. What it further means is that as per article 6 of constitution, musharraf be tried in the court for his subrogation of constitution on various instances, whatever the verdict be, but the process needs to be initiated against him.

I just want to say that its all game of power and somehow we seem to be convinced by these so called leaders that whatever they are doing is for the country. This is furthest from the truth. Totally unreal. This is a power game and the one who gains power wants to hold on to it. The one who gets out of power starts to blame everything. I am not in favour of any one. Pakistan has seen all these political parties. Once they get hold of the power they do the same what their predecessors had done in the past. Sincerity with this country is a slogan. Everyone used it and abused it. "sab sai pehlay Pakistan" was a slogan not too distant in the past. look at the damage that man has inflicted upon Pakistan. The man is gone but his legacy prevails. There is no difference in the performance. Rather it has gone from bad to worst. The point is that no one is sincere with Pakistan's people who pin their hopes and aspirations to these politicians everytime elections are held. And everytime they face bitter disappointment.

Enigma is 100% right
The biggest question mark for Pakistan is from where to get Sincere and visionary leadership.

Ali11 replied on Monday, March 9, 2009 05:30 PM

@The Intellectual,

This is the government elected by people, whether one likes it or not or whatever they are! I hate it though.

Saying that free judiciary will solve all of our issues is absolutely day dreaming. Who on earth told you that free judiciary will solve our issues ? Perhaps media and our politicians, who are corrupt.

Free judiciary was a joke raised by Nawaz & PPP to oust Musharraf. Once Musharraf gone, it was election stunt. With Benazir’s death, Nawaz knew his chances of winning election are extremely slim. After election with PPP in centre, and Nawaz in Punjab, it was a tool for Nawaz to blackmail government and he wanted a fight with government to pave way for the new elections. Zardari have given him the platform. All hail to free judiciary.

Nice to learn that you call yourself The Intellectual and others corrupt. God Bless you.

EU replied on Monday, March 9, 2009 05:47 PM

Dear Intellectual,
Do you know that only one vote was casted against P.Musharraf's presidential elections and this includes PPP, PML, MMA etc.
There was constitunal endorsement by the than cheif justice Iftikhar Ch. and Parliament.
Still Musharraf resigned on his own accord from both official positions. No dictator resign on demand from a minority political activists.
It was Nawaz Sharif who tried to destroy PIA aircraft together with onboard passengers and govt. officials.

I also remember not even intellectual objected while Musharraf was President and C.o.A.S for 5 years.

Farooq Naek for slot of senate chairman, so when zardari is out of country, the acting President cannot oust him in a coup, so naturally, Naek the corrupt is his best choice, after all, corrupt favours corrupt.
