The oath of the office of president/Prime minister of Pakistan itself makes our leaders hypocrite. The idea camr to me while watching the inauguration ceremony of Gilani in 2008

Gilani’s oath of office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan was as follows

I, Yousuf Raza Gilani, do swear solemnly that l am a Muslim and believe in the Unity and Oneness of Almighty Allah, the Books of Allah, the Holy Quran being the last of them, the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last of the Prophets and that there can be no Prophet after him, the Day of Judgment, and all the requirements and teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah:
That I will bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan: That, as Prime Minister of Pakistan, I will discharge my duties, and perform my functions, honestly, to the best of my ability, faithfully in accordance with the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the law, and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well- being and prosperity of Pakistan: (1)…………..That I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan:……….. That I will not allow my personal interest to influence my official conduct or my official decisions: That I will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan: That, in all circumstances, I will do right to all manner of people, according to law, without fear or favor, affection or ill- will: And that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as Prime Minister except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as Prime Minister.
May Allah Almighty help and guide me (A’meen)
Now consider the (1)……. the main oath, That I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan: If the prime minister is to stay true to his whole oath, then very next day he should do the following:
Shut down the Banks
Shut down stock market
Close down Music and film making industry
Close down music and film supplying industry
Shut down cable and all other TV broadcasts
Shut down Murree and Quetta breweries
Order all women to cover up their faces
Order all women to not leave the house without a Mahram
Order jihad to conquer and Islamize the surrounding countries

This little list is not exhaustive.

Of course he does not and cannot do any of it. He is unable to fulfill his oath. He knew that already. He immediately becomes a hypocrite if he is already not one. Once he becomes hypocrite Now the field is open to him to become any of the sort of taking part in immoral activity from accumulating wealth and power and cronies to sustain him in this endeavor.

I am not a fanatic as you might think. What I intend to say that why can’t we have simple oath in the constitution of Pakistan like United States and Israelis as copied below at least it will not make the our leaders hypocrite at the very first execution of the offices.

The Prime Minister of Israel has to make the following “declaration of allegiance” upon taking office:
I (name) pledge myself as Prime Minister to bear allegiance to the State of Israel and to its laws, to carry out faithfully my functions as Prime Minister and to comply with the decisions of the Knesset.

Or even the oath of most powerful office on the face of the earth.
In the United States, the oath of office for the President of the United States is specified in the U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1):
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Does any one can tell us about the oath which is undersigned by the applicant while filing the application for participating in elections!
One have to declare all his assets and incomes honestly!
How many politicians declare it honestly respecting the signed oath?
Where as all salaried people cannot hide their income and tax is deducted from the income all their lives.
IMO, salried person have more right towards our vote rather than a bussinessman.

@ Aamir

Your post is totally out of wits. Why not you go to Afghanistan and fight for Jihad. Please take your family with you. This is a golden opportunity for you to fulfill your dreams.

For God sake, please leave us alone. We don’t want to go back to Stone Age. I don’t care about your thoughts but please please do not post here. You may find out some other forums to discuss your fanatic thoughts.

I am extremely sorry for rudeness but I cannot control my temper reading your non-sense post.

Thats right I think the guy needs professional help.

Dear Adviser and Observer

This is what I am emphasizing that if some Prime minister starts implementing his oath (That I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan)in letter and sprite the outcome would be as described above.

That's why I suggested that the PM's oath should be changed to a secular one. As Quid-e-Azam also proclaimed in his first address on the creation Pakistan that religion is not the business of state everybody is free to go to Mosque, Church temple.
Do you agree or disagree
