I commend your start, Dear Pakistani

Perhaps by refusing fight with own country men.
Perhaps by giving equal facilities to Baloch and to FATA tribes like we have in Punjab and Sindh.
Perhaps by preaching about TRUE Islam which says no to Terrorism.

By asking all the politician to return all the loot to pakistan to to do development work in poor areas.
Even 10% should be enough.

Zain replied on Monday, April 6, 2009 11:57 AM

By being UNITED.

The question is! are you really want to stop these terriorist attacks?
if yes! then it is very simple to stop all these mess.
Go back to inventors, bring them to table and talk to them, try to do some give and take with trust and faithfully.
This is the only way to eliminate this problem, and mean time try to build writ of governement so other seduced wont get strong to challenge the governemtn and a humble request to Army generals please keep your hands off from power chairs, every thing would be ok soon.

There are several different kinds of terrorism in Pakistan, with a degree of cooperation between some.

foreign agencies sponsored
drug and smuggling cartels sponsored
Al-Qaeda inspired
sectarian
local Taliban inspired
local establishment sponsored
ethnic

The first three are artificially provoked and won't sustain for being unnatural to our society. Their intensity can be reduced by effective border management, intelligence and most importantly by equal magnitude response to foreign sponsors. No matter how strong defences you have, in absence of deterrent these foreign sponsors will keep rolling the dice.

The next two aren't foreign sponsored but still unnatural to our society. Unnatural because not more than 20% people have such ideological inclination, and not more than 1% support use of violent force for these. This can be, and should be, managed by changing foreign policy, effective policing, awareness, education and socio-economic uplift.

The last one, in my opinion is most worrisome, particularly in Balochistan. It isn't active at moment, but the combination of local political/social/economic deprivation and international strategies, that combination has real risks to federation. It can be, and must be, managed proactively by political justice, socio-economic development and better social integration.

Okayyyy....., I got back an answer, My dad consulted taaya jee and chaacha jee, they belong to feudal class and I don't.....make no mistake about it. They say that their survival and authority depend upon the current social system regardless if it is feudal and corrupt. They say that the mind and soul of a poor laborer who sleeps on the sidewalk and earn daily wages are more feudal than them. It is not their fear, rather a belief that if they leave that poor laborer will simply fill their spot. They are very practical people, true believers and active politicians. They say that people like them are very small in numbers yet they maintain their status quo with the support of that same poor man, who spends all his life chasing a dream of becoming a feudal..... a member of an elite class ......poor man. They say that we are all part of a cycle..... we may call it vicious..... we all want to come out of it yet we all support it to stay intact.

Being a suicidal is a “blood chemistry change” in the mind and when it comes, it just comes up.
Not only these illiterate boys, who are exploding themselves now a days, only face that change of mind, a lot of intellectuals also face these situations where they see their suicide as a magnificent job and a fascinating action.
Ibn-e-Insha, Qudratullah Shahab and so many others noted personalities had tried their lives one time or another.
I lived in Multan, once, and one of my best friends who was a son of a distinguished writer, Mr. Fakharuddin Bulley, talked to me, one day before of his incident, in a wonderful way that He was going to do a great thing of his life , He never managed to do so far!
He was a beautiful young man having a charming personality, a great poet, was working as a manager in the bank, a caring and loving friend, just hung himself the other day and finished his life.
These people need a little motivation to do what they had always wished to do.
I witnessed another situation in 1994 where a college going young son of my colleague simply disappeared. We found him with a “Moulvee” somewhere in Islamabad and the moment we approached the Moulvee, He started talking in a loud voice:

“shahadut key jazba say sarshaar haien!”
“shahadut key jazba say sarshaar haien!”
He never stopped saying these things and finally when it came to the bottom line, Moulvee sent the boy’s father to a small masjid, located in one of the Attock’s villages, fulfilled the monetary obligations and purchased his son back from the moulvee.
The boy was later on treated for the disease in his mind and became normal.
If we want to eliminate this problem, we need to eliminate lacs of these moulvees and this needs funding in education sector, which will never happen in Pakistan.

All arguments given above are very valid. One more thing:

All Maulvi Sahban throuhgh out Pakistan should give FATWAH (not merely denounce) that all suicide attackers are confirmed JAHUNUMMI.

Like it or not, Maulvi (even if its 2009)still has got great hold on the masses.

Terrorism in Pakistan can only reduce by step by step approach.
I can list what contribute most to the terrorism in Pakistan.
1- Presence of Indian troops in Afghanistan.
2- Devaluation of Pakistan currency.
3- Cuts in defence budget.
4- anti state elements on top level.
5- Pakistan media.
6- Flawed constitution.
7- Corrupt judiciary.
8- Selfish society.
List continues but those which matter most is listed above number wise.
I think if first two listed above are reversed than it may solve 80% of terrorism.
We must not forget the fact that all suicide bombers were foreigners of age under 20, they are not Pakhtoons rather they are Uzbek and Hazara Afghans and were not registered Pakistanis. No families of dead / captured terrorists have been located inside Pakistan. We should not buy any claims by Govt. until unless those were fortified with DNA tests.
One point my mind fail to understand:
I believe it is not possible to hire an army of suicide bombers, even if we put up and adv. in nationwide news papers.
how come a newly born terror outfit TTP can recruit hundred of bombers? what is the source of income of TTP? where are there training camps located? Where did they get arms. ammunition and equipment to fight Pak army, blast pipelines, burn railway engines, blast hotels etc...
If we cut the stem branches will die by itself.
Thanks.

Mr. Abrar, very well said! Thank you for a realistic practical answer.

Aamir replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 03:32 AM

There is no defence against suicide attacks as such, no matter to what extent you upgrade security measures and use technology. You can’t do much about a person who himself is willing to die. The reason of such attacks in Pakistan is the presence of American forces in Afghanistan. Every attack of USA on Afghanistan is retaliated in the form of terrorist attack in the country for being Pakistan partner in war on terror. Such attacks were unheard of before invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 when socioeconomic conditions of the Northern areas were even bleaker than today. As long as US forces remain committed in Afghanistan Pakistan would continue suffering on the hands of terrorists with only concession of Foreign aid in terms of $. Either Pakistan should withdraw from war on terror or America should decide withdrawal of her forces from Afghanistan. Since latter is unlikely in near future therefore it becomes catch 22 for Pakistan. Exploiting religious mindset for the cause is a small part of the bigger picture. Sure enough, there are no indigenous means available to Pakistan to stop these terrorist attacks.

Waqar Latif replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 03:45 AM

Lolzz, Interior minister don't have guts to solve the problem, then why the hell he is sitting on this chair, when he can't provide us protection?

I 100% agree with moulana sahab, if all pakistani moullah togathher give a fatwa that "The one who does suicide bombing against civilian is confirm jahanami, or even does against police who has nothing to do with that fight is confirm jahanami" Then the things will change for sure, and i think no molvi would have any objection on giving fatwa on this line.

But, 1st interior minister has to define what are the terrorist attacks? If some USA attack and kills innocent civilian, childern & women (most important Pakistanis) then those are not terrorist attacks, but if some organization which is backed by raw, cia, does something then those are terrorist attacks? why double standard? Isn't it a hypocricy?

Anyhow, i have best solution to stop terrorist attacks, but i can't tell my secretes.. Make me Defense minister instead of Rehman malik, who give up by saying, we can't check every person on Islamabad gate..

Saif replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 04:09 AM

Agree with Arfan and Aamir. Pakistan must withdraw its support to US and Nato in fighting the so called war on terror and must do so openly and immediately. Pakistan's survival is at risk because of towing the US policy blindly. Need a long march and Dharna in Islamabad if our govenment doesn't change Musharraf's policies. This will help unite the nation and eliminate main threat to our country. Alongside we need to improve our justice system and cleaning the society of feudalism and elitism. No degradation of human beings irrespective of their social status.

A Pakistani with Hope replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 08:58 AM

Well need to define first who is Terrorist?

1- Taliban (A group of people who want the justice, their learning and history told them that it is possible via Islam. However their demand is justice actually and nothing Else)
2- Mullaism (A group of people who are the Thekedar of Islam, but in fact this is not their ability that they become the Thekedar we made them. We need to think twice here who is Terrorist Mulla or we)
3- America & Europe and other anit Islam forces. (Spreading the terror by power, and might is right), (I am not using word Muslim here, cause they don't need to be anti Muslims, we being a Muslim are already with them, even inside Pakistan or specially out side Pakistan, they are afraid of Islam not majority of Muslim)
4- Al-Qaida (A group that cannot be found any where except in dreams or in papers)
5- General Pakistani (A class of people is born for, surviving for and will die for to acheive Roti Kapra and Makan)

I am always surprised that if the Terrorist who are Taliban, are Mulla, are General Pakistani and are reacting against Forign Forces and bombing at Mosque, at Amambargah mostly, if they are some kind of Muslim then why not they attack on Church, Gurdwara, Mandir.

Why Mosque, Amambargah mostly under attack, only once of two time Church was under attack. Who not Gurdwara (too many in Pak and are active), if the attacker is Muslim, who not Mandir (which are only few and in-active in Pak), who not Church (which are many in Pak and active as well)

Being a Pakistani and a Muslim, I would like to ask all the forum members, if there is a stage come in your life and you loose your all the family members, no justice for you, some forces want to hold your resources. Than what will be your next step to show your reaction?

1- Will you attack on Mosque
2- Will you attack on Amambargah

OR

3- Will you attack on Church
4- Will you attack on Mandir
5- Will you attack on Gurdwara

OR

6- Will you attack on General Pakistani Public

OR

7- Will you attack on some Foreign National in Pakistan

Some thing is called nature, what will be your natural choice being a Muslim to attack if the stage ever occur in life. If we suppose that Muslims are the same like all other Human in the world. Then your answer will be 3, 4, 5, 7. But being a true Muslim you will be even unable to attack on Church, Mandir and Gurdwara even, Because Islam do not allow this at all. This is only the sole reason which stop me to become a Terrorist.

Then who are the attacker. A born Muslim, or a true Muslim or some other people who has getup of a Muslim.

We need to think twice, while spreading news of western media, and now even our local media news. Only few of Us seen Taliban closely and know about it who they are actually. Rest of all of us are Bhair Chal, what media saying we believe on it and spreading it proudly.

It is simple rule that might is right. USA and Europe are might at the moment. We are far behind from them in technology. The major wars between humans is always initiate due to resources.

If you want to stop the Terrorist Attack then you have 2 choices. Terrorist attacks will be stop.

1- Give your resources to External Forces and welcome them to hold it and rule on you. All the Terrorist attack will be finished. Attacks after their rule will not be called as Terrorist Attack even at that time we all also will be involved in this struggle.

2- Second choice is to spread the education, knowledge, technology. World is going to adopt the Open Source process and we are holding the knowledge in our hearts rather then spreading it, because we all are afraid if other one will know about this knowledge he will grow more then us and that is what we don't want to see at any cost.

I admit all the fault in us, we lie at every step of life in our daily routine matters for no reason. We want justice for ourself only but not for others.

"A Pakistani"

Where was you, i never seen any sensible commentor on this forum before.

I agree with you every point, other then just one, about mullah, since i think majority mullah aren't that bad.. they come to mosque just to do there job (i.e. pray, do khutba and leaves) also, if you some time visit some quality madrass like jam-e-asharfia then you might change your mind.

any how i am 100% agree a true muslim will never attack on all option, he might try to fight with pak Army, or Nato army. Infact i feel like those people who actually go for suicide bombing are been hypnotizes. since no person will do such act, since other religous people are also scared of the death, like we are.

Ifti replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 10:56 AM

I don't know, if anybody will go back to Quran and Sunnah but one thing is clear, that this terrorism will not stop, untill unless the whole Nation will stand up and do what so ever possible is to stop this terrorism imported from across the borders. The whole nation will have to fight as it was in 1956 and 1965. If anybody want the plan, then i have a full plan to counter terrorism in Pakistan. I am 110% sure. We will succeed Inshahallah.
