The true story of lashing in Swat

Aamir replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 07:35 AM

The true story is too late. Our immature media has done the damage beyond economical repair by now

Waqar Latif replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 08:25 AM

I really think, the people on Geo need a medical checkup. 1st the video released on youtube, that it happened in 6 moth back in kabul, v next headline on Geo came as, a teenager girl lashed 40 times in swat. & then on going discussion.. now what the F*** geo's problem? then they bring there own story in front, which had no basis, no teenager came, neither any other person from the swat (who was in that crowed came), yet the story were pushed in the air. without common sense, if that actually happened then how come the girl stand up and walk calmly, medically it is impossible the a teenage girl get beaten so badly and she even don't show anything. Also, then they added missala like, sussar.. & that sussar didn't get any lashes..

& Stupid PM, & President & other ministers also helped this to defame pakistan & Islam. I don't give damn ... to Altaf, since i know he is a pure ...

Our enlightened champions did hue and cry over this video which is fake. Why none of the human rights activists and MQM rasied their voice and took out processions on the atrocities committed on daughter of the land (Dr. Afia Siddique) by the ?civilised countries forces? Because these folks wanna have execuse to malign Islam and nothing else.

Thousands of Pakistan's daughters get raped and taken advantage of majboori everyday by it's servants like Police, elite classes, waderas, officers, why nobody takes out jaloos in protest and protection of the thousands of daughters and sisters? Where is the gairat at that time?

Majed replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 03:41 PM

Ali sb, have respect for such a good name. Ghairat for 1 or 1000 is same. Agar aap ki gairat ye dekh ke nahi jagti tu 1000 ke rape ke baad bhi nahi jage gi....kyon

Ali3 replied on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 06:45 PM

Mr. Majed, agar apki ghairat 1000 rape dekh kar nahi jagi to 1 par kiyoun? Because you want to be part of the plan to defame Islam? Before commenting first you should know the whole story. And where did you read that my ghairat nahi jagi? Maybe in your dreams? Wake up now, it's morning!

Was the video fake? or

Is the nameless writer of this column that claims to have spent 20 some years editing for an unknown entity but conveniently names a commisioner of malakand, just a Taliban sympathiser?

or just a Geo competior that may just have a grievance against the channel for any reason, we don't know or will ever know for sure.

Or Is this another conpiracy theory to look the other way to blame someone else that get our act together? Its not a He said, she said scenario, but a video tape in this case..

Very hard to say my friends. Lets hope that this does not happen to anyone in Pakistan or elsewhere.

Btw, the reaction of people in response to this incident prove that Pakistanis for the most have a lot of ghairat, and feel for fellow pakistanis. We underestimate ourselves a lot, and such an inhumane act needs to be condemned by all with full force, so as to isolate the extremists that are blowing themselves every other day & killing innocent people in pakistan & abroad.

If I just pray on Friday, and someone tells me that whats the point of attending just Friday prayer, if I dont pray 5 times a day, I guess such question would be un reasonable, as its better than not praying at all. Let us not be afraid of condemning such acts, as we want Pakistan to be a progressive state and move forward with the rest of the world, rather than pushing it back to the stone age, as the people in those areas want.

Some of the banners being displayed during the protests said: "Hum Shariat ke kale kawaneen ko nahin mante". We don't accept the black laws of Shariat. People were openly saying on TV that some laws of Islam and Quran are not right and cannot be accepted.

The Muslim mindset is being prepared for the launch of the new Quran called Furqan. In it such laws as lashings have been ommited and other changes have been made according to the objectives of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".

By the way, abj, why dont we see ghairat even everyday lives? I dont think you are in Pakistan, so you probably dont know what's going on here. Being far makes a person patriotic.

@Abj

you put many word on the anonymity of the writer, but couldn't provide a single line against the writer's proof. You post seems to be a totally waste of the space on this forum.

I also produce a point how Geo miss represented the video to the news. & I am a same person who back geo, when they help in promoting Long march. Now how come you can say this line about me?

Also, Abj why don't your ghairat get wake up when 100s of tribal are been killed by Americans? but only awake when a video, without name, without any references, without any proofs gets up? You are also a same person like TTP in Swat, who's ghairat only dependent upon the women rights. not on the human rights.

Dear abj,

I have been reviewing your comments on various issues, it seems that you are the only person who is reminding people about “fact & reality” I am completely agree with you. But the major problem of our people that they are not ready to accept the reality around. By saying only that "we are the only creatures on earth at right path" will not work. It needs to prove your credibility as an individual and as well as a whole nation, here we are lacking, we are always talking about our glorious past and “brave heart” stories to prove our selves innocence . But in fact that rest of the world will judge you at your present deeds. Unfortunately we always “mix” religion with state affairs which is totally unrealistic approach. Whatsoever your religion is “keep it deep inside your brain” but here in Pakistan every one is engage to prove his skill as an authentic “Scholar of Religion” and defending his own Islamic ideology. We are not ready to accept or even listen the comments of any other community within the Muslims how we can tolerate with people of other religions.

Mr. Waqar Latif,
I am not sure why you think I was responding to your comments? My comments were about the anonymous writer, unless you are the author of the attachment. Luckily there is no cost per square foot on this real estate forum, so unlike you, I dont think your opinion is a waste of space, but you just voiced your opinion on a free forum which is your right, as you have an internet connection and a PC. I choose not to engage in a discussion with you. Feel free to ignore my comments now or in future.

ALI3,
I have not seen those banners, but such comments regarding Islam and Quran are condemnable, as those people assumed those three perverts were following Islam, which is absurd. Such people give a bad name to Islam.

If I see a women on TV, and especially in a "Burqa" being held to the ground by 3 men and being beaten ruthlessly and she is pleading for mercy in the middle of spectators, I believe that anyone with a relationship to any women be it a mother, wife, sister or a daughter will feel ghairat, as I am blessed to possess all of these precious relationships, some of them in pakistan as well. I am sure a lot of people feel the same way. I cannot compare the intensity of this incident to someone asking for a bribe, a govt.official misusing his authority, or myself being treated unfairly in everyday life typical for a developing country. I can live with those things and dont like them, but cannot live with what I just described. I think a line was crossed there, and the out cry from the civil society reflects that.

I think Islam is a wonderful religion but some of us tend to present it in a very scary way. Most "Mullahs" teach the kids Islam by fearing this and fearing that. It results in instilling an over aggressive behaviour in these people and impairs their ability to think objectively, listen to other's perspectives and view point, and are just robots ready to do anything in the name of religion. This was done purposely in the 80's in Gen Zia's time to use these people against the soviets and to strengthen zia's rule. A whole generation has been impaired, and we see the result in the present.
Islam is a practcal Religion with a lot of "WANT TO" then a "HAVE TO" as preached by the Illiterate Mullah.
Above all, Religion is a persons very personal thing. I dont criticize anyone else's religion, be it Christanity, Hinduism or whatever, until and unless it starts affecting my life. At the same time, I will protect my Religion and belief, when I feel someone is trying to defame it. We can all get along, with a slight attitude adjustment, and be a productive citizen of our community of any religious affiliation, or no religion at all. Lets Tolerate others beliefs. Religious tolerance does not include tolerating the behaviour of those 3 criminals in swat, or someone telling me to live my life a certain way, unless I ask them for their opinion.

@Abj

I Also didn't get it, where the hell i said something like you put comments on me? It seems like you really don't care what is written inside, rather then who is writing. Ok my comments for you also over, since you don't want to read yet like to write (which is actually waste of space since we have taught "Yeh na dekho kon keh raha hey, yeh dekho kiya keh raha hey")
