This is a lot of Bull about Pak-China friendship. During the Olympics in China recently, the Olympic torch bearers were attacked physically in many countries of Europe. President of France even incited people to attack them. That was outrageous, because those people are using the Tibet propaganda as a justification to take out their anger at their jealousy at China's economic success. They could not even spare a sports event from their hate and politics!
When the torch reached Pakistan, the top dignitaries including the President, Prime Minister, all CM's, Governors, all top government, military, bureaucratic officers gave them a salute and red carpet welcome, there was a welcome ceremony to honor them!
How does China reward Pakistan? They imposed a 6 month ban of visas for all Pakistanis and issued a notice for Europeans to apply early so that they will not have to face delay.
I agree that all Pakistanis are unanimously united in their love for China, but China hates Pakistan and Pakistanis. Today, despite all this fanfare of Pak-China friendship, one of the most difficult visas for Pakistanis to get is for China.
Hamid Mir has written that Pakistan's enemies are China's enemies, whoever hurts Pakistan hurts China too. Does he not know that the main country supporting USA in this time of America's economic crises is China?
Even the Chinese public has a tendency to be fascinated by the Americans, Europeans. Read their blogs, websites, etc. Try to befriend any Chinese person and you'll see the response yourself. |
