The decision wasn’t unexpected and the security concerns have some weight, especially after Sri Lankan team attack. Now instead of crying over spoilt milk we should rather hold those accountable who were responsible for this security failure. Had their been some integrity and will from government, this incident could have been prevented by existing law enforcement capabilities of Pakistan. All these jokers had to do was just to provide their own level of security. But unlike that,,, government acts and non-acts before and after this event indicate some facilitators of these attacks inside highest levels of government. That was home side. Now on foreign side also, there certainly exists a strategic policy of first destabilizing Pakistan and then carrying out organized propaganda campaigns to maximize psychological impact of provoked instability. Pakistan has to counteract this policy. Pakistan has to open lips and hands against overt and covert foreign aggressions. As an example of what I am trying to say,,, admitted that Pakistan isn’t secure venue for international cricket. Now realistically,,, how secure is India? Reality on ground is that even India’s own domestic cricket has to be played at foreign venues for security risks. No news and ‘views’ on that? Just on Pakistan? Another similar example, in recent partial election phase of India, at least 50 people have been killed in widespread anti-state attacks. Had this same thing happened in Pakistan during elections, there would have been organized propaganda campaigns all across western and Indian media that Pakistan has become failed state and Pakistan will break apart in 6 months and Pakistan is a nuclear nightmare and so and so. The point of these example isn’t taking shelter or excuse that it also happens in India. The point is enemies’ policy of destabilizing with left hand and then unleashing propaganda with right hand. Pakistan, to protect it's interests in this law of jungle, will have to counteract this policy. With both hands. |
