Islamabad: Land acquisition for D-14 starts
The land acquisition for sector D-14 is in full swing as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is mulling to launch the sector at earliest.
A senior CDA official said the sector would be launched for residential purposes as the housing shortage in the federal capital was deteriorating with every passing day.
He said the land owners would be compensated as per the land- sharing formula, introduced by the CDA, under which the land owners would be given one-fourth of the total land in developed form.
The official said the Authority has already advertised the process of land acquisition and asked land owners to register their complaints, if they have, about the process or evacuation of their land.
He said the land of Mauza Sara-e Kharbuza, Johad, Shah Allah Ditta and Rakkh Sarkar would be developed for residential purposes to bridge gap between demand and supply of housing units.
He said the Khasra numbers of Sara-e Kharbuza, Johad and Shah Allah Ditta have also been advised to avoid any inconvenience for the land owners.
The official said CDA has planned to open six residential sectors and two sub sectors in Islamabad those include D-13, E-13, F-13, D-14, C-13, and C-14. The sub sectors are D-15/2 and D-15/3.
He said the affectees of these sectors would be accommodated in sector I-14 where they would be allotted land against their owned land.
The official said the Authority is also planning to develop these sectors through public private partnership to share the burden of the CDA and ensure quality as well.
He said Authority is also considering inviting foreign firms as well for development purposes as it would bring investment in the country. APP report, 1-May-09 atiq raja. replied on Friday, May 1, 2009 03:33 PM

I will second atiq raja! CDA reputation is bad. It usually takes CDA more than twenty years to develope and give posession to alotees. Also list of sector you mention above. I-15 is not in there which was announce by previous Govt and still nothing happened. So good luck with Govt own schemes and sames goes for OPF too. |

CDA must be penalized for failing and not providing residential sectors. |

If a few plots in sector E-12 are allotted to permanent Generals, Secretaries and temporary but powerful Federal Ministers only then the sector will be developed. Otherwise it may take another 50 to 80 years. |

lahori munday, if u had lived in pindi/isb, u would've known that the current I sectors are not considered part of Islamabad by people. Officially and in the maps they are, but the general perception is that they are not "proper" Islamabad .... I-8 is an exception to some extent. Regarding I-16, time will tell ... Also, Raja sahab is a respected contributor to this forum and many people value his thoughts and inputs. No need for abusive language if you cannot respectfully disagree. |
