HRS replied on Friday, May 8, 2009 04:46 AM

Why should this child love Pakistan?
This is exactly the plan of so called Pakistani leadership, to deprive people from opportunities.
Funny part about Pakistan is non of its leader is educated and the world knows that only women flogging is the job of Pakistanis.
They some how learn English over the period of time, and there english language course cost Pakistan a lot of money.
I have a question to Pakistanis; Who is your interior minister?

WHERE IS GEO NEWS...........???

Really amazing talent and huge story but no attention...

CMY replied on Friday, May 8, 2009 07:27 AM

Great story in this very tough time. If we could share some more good stories here like this above achievement or other good things about Pakistan and Pakistanies. It would be great.

Umer Inyat bhai I did see this amazing boy's story on GEO and almost all oher ews channels during last week.

This above story reminded me my past that made my parents very proud too at time. In 1984 I also had a chance to be covered on most newspapers front page in Pakistan for designing least expensive flexible and very good local made traffic signal controls and automatic railway crossing controls(I won a prize for it during science and industry exhibition for designing these traffic controls). At that time designing home made traffic control signals was a very big achievement because before that Pakistan was dependent of foreign made controls that required an engineer to make trip to Pakistan for proper installation etc. I wish I had saved some clipping but they were lost when I went to USA.

Hi,

May be its correct story and I wish it is correct but this article have many things incorrect, there is no Stanford University in Manchester but Salford University, I just called the Salford uni/computer section and they are toatlly unaware. I have spoken few OCP (Oracle Certified professionals) no one know about 4.99/5.0 scores as Oracle do not rate like this even there are many people who got 100% marks in Oracle exams. May be this guy is youngest in this field.

In article salary mentioned 25 lacs per month which make almost £300,000 per year and UK best bank cheif executive salary is not half of this.

UK best unis cambridge/oxford tuition fee for under graduate not more than £17,000 http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/international/finance.html

No University in UK charge $90K even half of this.

I wish we have this type of talent

Wish you Ammar best of luck

Analyst_1 replied on Friday, May 8, 2009 09:43 AM

I agree with Fayyaz. I believe what Ammar has achieved is excellent and he made all of us proud but there is too much exaggeration. He has done something amazing but i don't believe that somebody can solve the problem on the phone in few minutes which whole world could not understand. He must be a genious..there is no doubt..but this article has too many things which are not true.

RAWALPINDI: Ali Moeen Nawazish of Rawalpindi has brought worldwide recognition to Pakistan by blazing his way into the Guinness Book of World Records, clearing 23 A-Level subjects and securing A Grade in 21 of them.

A student of Roots School System, it was Ali’s “thirst for knowledge” that made him the only student in the world to appear in 23 subjects. He appeared in all examinations within 12 months.
Rarely has a Pakistani student taken up subjects that Ali opted for, like Tourism and Marine Sciences. He is also the first student in the world to have secured 21 A Grades, the previous record being 13.

No wonder his remarkable success drew the attention of major international newspapers with CNN and BBC also airing his interviews. Unfortunately authorities in Pakistan were unmoved. When Ali sat down to fill up his university application forms at home, there was barely enough space to list all his qualifications. With his talent spilling over, it was no surprise that he also achieved a top score in the US admissions test and was accepted by most Ivy League institutions, including Harvard and Yale. Apart from core science subjects, Ali is almost entirely self-taught with his extraordinary memory and amazing analytical powers.

This can be verified online. So there is truly potential in our country, just that it is belittled by fake articles whereas genuine ones go unnoticed.

Dear Fayyaz sahib

I don't know where do you get your information but a UK big banker earns in millions a year and not in thousands. Look at the big managers; they earn also in millions. This was many time challenged and criticised in the newspapers of Europe. One should have enough courage to appreciate the others.

Fayyaz replied on Friday, May 8, 2009 02:01 PM

Dear Ifti,

I have appricaiated the guy and wish him best of luck, but this article is really much exaggerated.

Keep smiling
Fayyaz

Dear all,
I am so happy and proud to know our loved nation is still alive and will produce many such AMAAR.
Congratulations with good faith to this boy and wish him good luck.
On the other side, too much exaggeration and hence I agree with Fayyaz comments.
Without going into detail and simultaneously living in Europe, I know the exact salary numbers while working in this sector. Hence this is exaggeration.

UNKNOWN replied on Saturday, May 9, 2009 04:29 AM

MR FAYYAZ UR CALCULATION IS NOT CORRECT .25 LAC RS IS ALMOST STG 21500/= NOT STG 300000/= PLS BE ACCURATE AND STOP CRITISING AND BE POSITIVE...

Fayyaz replied on Saturday, May 9, 2009 04:33 AM

Dear Ifti,

First thing I have appericiated the guy and wish him good luck, I have just commented on the article above which looks bit exaggerated.

This article good to impress people in Pakistan but not overseas who knows the reality about salaries, be realistic :), even dawn have this news but the university they mentioned is not in UK that is USA university.

Just think what he will do study or job, if study then how he do a job which cost bank £25,000 each month, in UK a junior doctor in hospital do 48 hours job minimum per week and his/her salary is £32,000 to £45,000 per year before tax and deduct 30-40% tax as well.

PS: He is not appointed a CEO of HSBC or Barclays for sure

Regards,

Mansoor replied on Saturday, May 9, 2009 05:18 AM

There are obviously many false statements in the article which is an indication of the bankruptcy of our urdu print media. God knows how much truth is in the actual story. There is also an unfortunate tendency of forwarding such emails without critically thinking or analyzing it. Good write-up Mr. Fayyaz!
