Indian rupee gets stronger as the Congress sweeps the polls with Manmohan Singh being the prospective candidate for premiership.This really made my indian collegues upset as they used to get their riyals exchanged for more rupees before(13.90) than they are getting today(12.40).I personally feel that its a temporary phase and indian rupee will surely come back to the value it was before elections an an exporter state cannot afford to have a stronger currency.Am i right!

During Musharraf's rule Pakistan rupee apreciated from 80 to 65.
I use to take my salary in Riyals. |

Rupee was not appriciated in Mush rule, Actually GOVT.was holding it by putting wrong economic figures. |

Badar Sahib for how many years a government can give wrong economic figures? For your information Saudi Riyal remained at a certain figure i.e. 1 SR = 16 rupees for 5 years. This is a particular mentality of a Pakistani that we do not credit to any one. Be realistic and must admire any good actions done by any government irrespective of who was in power? |

Jan Malik, you are absolutely right. Its really hard for me to understand the people who often say that rupee was kept stronger artificially in Musharaf era.Can it really be kept stronger artificially for that long a period! |
