I am visiting Newyork for the period from 17 July to 1st August 09 for some exam. Exam place is in 1 Penn Plaza near NY Penn station.

Anybody from Newyork please guide me in getting a budget room where I can spend my time. The place should be near some Pakistani food. Preferably If I can get some paying guest place. I would appreciate if the moderator can keep this for some time

there is a great Pakistani restaurant on 33rd street between broadway and 7th Ave. It is one block from Penn Plaza. The restaurant is called SALT AND PEPPER. There is also a Pakistani restaurant right off 5th Avenue on 27th Street. It is between 5th and Broadway.

That is my area so I know it well. I am not sure how much you want to pay for a room. Manhattan is not cheap.

Thanks a lot for your guidance. Brother I have currently booked in Four Points hotel on 40th street. Got Chenab restaurant near. I would be paying about $135 per day net there but it is very expensive for 15 days stay. Looking for maximum US$50/60 per day.

I lived in Manhattan for many years. You are not gonna find hotel in midtown for 60 bucks. If you want to save money stay in Queens.Search for hotels in Queens on expedia.com. Take a subway to Manhattan and dont forget to try Qeema puratha, thats Janab speciality.

There is Kashmir Restaurant on 9th avenue.

For Jumma Prayer:
30th street between 7th and 8th avenue

29th Street between 5th and Broadway. Masjid Alrahman

43rd Street (I dont know exact location)

53/54rd street Masjid Usman

93rd Street Islamic Center.

There are other places too

I am looking for a room near some pakistani food. I have exams on 23rd and on 30th July in 1 Penn Plaza. Otherwise I can stay away from everything. I need a quite room where I can spend almost all my time preparing for my exam. Room might not necessarily be in hotel either.
