Painda Khan, who has five children to feed, may spend the rest of his life on a wheelchair if he was not treated properly. On his own, he is not in a position to afford two-time bread for his family, what to talk of his treatment.
He is suffering from a disease, which is constantly emaciating his body limbs. “When I was quite young, I began to feel my legs were quite weak and today, I am unable to move on my own,” the sobbing 45-year-old destitute said, with his wife standing left to his wheelchair.
Wiping tears with his sleeves, Painda Khan said, he used to work as a labourer and also had some goats to support his family at a Chakri locality in Rawalpindi, but his increasing weakness landed him in PIMS some two months back.
He is also suffering from a heart ailment. He foresees darkness all around him, for he can’t even perform ablution without being helped by his spouse. The distressed couple has left their three young daughters and two sons at the house of Painda Khan’s sister.
“I don’t know for how long, she can take care of our children. We just can’t think of affording their sustenance. We pray they are not shown the door, though my sister’s family too is financially not sound,” he maintained.
Painda Khan was desperate to again stand up on his feet to support his family, as his wife pushed his wheelchair out of Room 3 of the Medical Ward 6.
“We requested for assistance to purchase medicines and several patients and their attendants were sympathetic enough to contribute for us,” his wife said. Painda needed Rs1,000 to buy some medicines and injections the other day.
They were deeply hurt by the buffets of life, which forced them to appeal to others for help, but apparently had no other option at hand. The couple fears a day may come soon, when they are no more given financial help to buy medicines.
“Doctors as well as paramedics are very cooperative and mindful of our difficulties: That is why we are given medicines, which are available at the hospital,” he said.
The couple has no money even to buy food from outside. Painda Khan is given food by the hospital, which he has to share with his wife, because no additional food is made available to him. His wife says she is capable of doing household work to support his family, if the condition of her husband improves and he regains enough energy to take care of himself at the hospital.

One thing I fail to understand, that why the newspapers do not put any contact details of such people as part of the news? Afterall the reporter investigated and got information about the patients i am sure that he would know their phone number or address so that we could contact them.
It pains me to hear and read news that mother and so many kids jumped in a canal because of poverty or father of so many kids suicided due to poverty. I wish there was a way that they could contact people like me.... I am not rich but when i go for a dinner with my family to a restaurant the bill is never less than Rs 3000 and we go several times a month. If we skip one trip to a restaurant and help a person who are going to suicide i think it is worth it .... |

here all is wrong (awa ka awa bigra hua hai).
nothing positive is going on .few media channels and media person are hired by PML n and they are saying their words day and night.
nawaz sharif sees mushref day and night in his dreams.i can not understand that these politicians forget each and every thing which they do when they are in power and blams others that why they arrest and tie their hands while sending in jail butdo not see their in.
why PML N forgets that which law allows them to attck supreme court,which law tells them to hijack plane,which law allows them to attck on sajjad ali shah..which law allow them to offer money in brief cases to jaudges???
this is the same type of voilation and same law which was for mushref and mian sahib.so if mushref can be trailed for breaking law ,,why not mian brothers...???
i am with Pm gilani that this is not time to do such politics,this is time to strengthen pakistan...
why this friendly opposition of PML.N does not come up for sugar,Atta, recent steel mill chair appointment, why they do not interogate information minister for his uSA deeds,why they do not ask for non billing to IPP,,why they are not talking on DROAN attacks ....why they are sielent when 13 billion dollers loan was taken by GOvt in last 18 months with out spending on any public project....is mian shareefs are doing personal politics and are waiting for their turn.................

dear all, punishing a dictator is also helping the country advance in the right direction.
Mind it, this is very important to punish every person who touches constitution nd in my opinion death penalty should be imposed. Such persons should be taken to account even after their death.
This is very very very important to take care of our direction. |

this is not so easy .
do not be emotional.
as MR.bhutto was also civil and military marshal law administrator at one time.
so will you give plenty also to him on this act as he is no more now???
the only solution to all of these is fair,neat and clean ,non corrupt good governess.......
untill and unless we get this the things and people will remain same with changing faces..... |
