Dear CMY,
What is the difference between the following:
1. Open File
2. Allocation File
3. Affidavit File
Also I require your kind advice for which is better in terms of development time among the following:
1. Phase 5 M Block Allocation File
2. Phase 5 Extension Allocation File
3. Phase 6 Allocation File
4. Phase 7 Allocation File
5. Phase 9/10 Allocation File
If possible please give tentative time frame for the development of all of above.

1) There are no open files in DHA Lahore anymore. Generally open file means sellers have signed all documents needed for transfer in front of society transfer staff and appearance of seller is not needed any more. Any person that have OPEN file possession is the owner of that file. If its lost or burnt you will be in great trouble.
2) Allocation file is made after an affidavit file. Its normally second transfer that is held after a plot is allocated when all legal requirement were completed. Allocation file means a person is entileded to have a plot and he will transfer his plots right to new buyer. No
3)Affidavit file is a file where all land taking process is now completed and its ready for allocation of a plot. Land owner ask DHA to allocated a plot in any person's name he wants. First transfer of file is normally called affidavit file. Affidavit file transfer is not as secure as allocation but both are ok. In both cases buyer gets an allocation.
No time frames are officialy annouced by DHA Lahore. This is my personal GUESS ONLY.
. Phase 5 M Block Allocation File may get you a plot within 1 to 2 years.
2. Phase 5 Extension Allocation File may get you a plot in 3 to 5 years.
3. Phase 6 Allocation File may get you a plot any day from today.
4. Phase 7 Allocation File may get you a plot in 3 months to 3 years.
5. Phase 9/10 Allocation File will get you a plot in 4 to 5 years time.
I think DHA 8 proper and DHA 9-10 files are best choices.
