I can not understand the country where NO electric , NO gas, NO clean water, NO food ,NO law and order, why houses are so expensive , why !!!!!!!!!!!!!! pl someone can answer this question

coz of land-mafia! resources are controlled by some people, there isn't any open market, not just land but automobile market is controlled in the similar way, have you wondered why a 10 yrs old 4X4 cost 15 lacs where the same car is worth nothing in europe? coz market is monopolized by some people, its a pitty though!

I give you an example, because of corruption, if i can afford it, i buy acres and acres of land and can manipulate the market,

in other countries, Govt controls the land and allow private companies to build houses and sell them in a controlled way and this way price doesn't go out of hands,

time is changing now, there are hardly buyers out there for expensive properties, people are running towards the low-cost land, even LRE have started selling properties in low-cost societies e.g. Bahria Town.

Its a joke comparing Pakistan with Europe. In UK average income is around 25000 pounds per annum which is around 34 lakhs (And i am talking about graduate job not even a managerial job). People comparing prices with european countries does not even have a common sense.

I just want to ask u people one question "that how much percentage of pakistanis are living overseas out of total 17 miillion population of this country that has very scarce resources"?

These people have to live here and so they are also supposed to buy properties here not overseas as they cant go there, they dont have any british , american and canadian passports with them.so cheap properties in the west are of no avsil for them?

The high prices especially in housing industry is coz of simple supply demand.

i want to tell another thing that i u go to suburban areas of punjb the prices are that much high that one simply shocked, i hail from sialkot where in villages that are 5-6 kilometers away from GT ROAD or any other major highway with no gas available land is selling @ 1.5 lacs to 2 lacs per marla and agrivulture land is seling @ 12 to 20 lacs per acre, the reason behind it is land is less and population is increasing day by day.

Prices in Pakistan are much higher than the U.S or Europe. The yardstick to measure how expensive prices are is to compare the prices with the average earnings of a person.

The reason for the high prices is basically, it takes a long time to create a scheme in Pakistan and you have to pay bribes to get water, electricty and gas connections. Then there is the problem of the land mafia and our legal system where cases go on for decades without being decided. Then there is no punishment for the land mafia, then just move to another scheme. Then there is corruption. Just look at even CDA which despite being a local authority is taking decades to develop a new sector.

I believe that the houses are not expensive in Pakistan (a brand new 10 Marla house for about $100,000, or 1 Kanal in up and coming areas). A good executive wage is about $15,000 a year, so the house represents about 7 years of wages. In US or Europe, its about the same (7-10 years of wages). But price of a car in Pakistan is ourageous ($20000 for a 1.3/1.5 Litre car), thats a wage of nearly 1.5 years. Whereas in the west cost of the car is about 1/3rd of the annual wage.

There are not many people earning $15,000 a year in Pakistan. The average pay for even a good job in Pakistan is about 30,000 rupees a month, which is about $4,000 per annum.
