As a far distant relative of Imran and knowing him at a deep personal/family level I can tell you that I feel proud as a Pakistani that he is one of us. Our mother land gave birth to a servant of humanity. I thank Allah SWT for such a gift.
Having said that politically and personally, in his younger days, he made several mistakes. He acknowledges them as well. Make no mistake today Imran Khan follows a righteous path. He gave up all the wealth and glory of west to live and serve Pakistan. He bows to Allah and no one else. If Allah SWT is most forgiving and kind, I am compelled to follow His qualities as well.
Is Imran perfect? Of course not; no one is, except Syndna Muhammd (SALAM). In my humble opinion Imran Khan brings hope for Pakistan. Unfortunately most Pakistanis still recent him for marrying a younger Jewish woman, even though he converted her to Islam. They still remember him as an arrogant and self centered person, who cannot mix with the masses of ordinary Pakistanis. He is blamed, in some cases rightfully so, for committing adultery and not compromising on his core beliefs and principals.
If given Imran a possibility to lead this nation, I believe history will prove that he may be the next best leader to our Qaid Jinnah.
Unfortunately I don't believe any of us will see that day. We as a nation are not forgiving and lack vision. We bow to criminals like Altaf Hussain, Zardari, Bugti and the list goes on.
All I can do is pray for Imran's safety. He is surrounded by killers, looters, and out right zalim politicians. He is alive today with the grace of Allah SWT. I ask our Creator to keep him safe, even at a cost of never leading our nation, even though Pakistan desperately need some loyal and an intellect to lead us.
I live overseas but AL of family decided to stay back home. Their main reason was tha if Imran Khan can live and serve our nation, why can they not stay put. I hope to join their ranks as well. |
