Dear CMY and other valuable friends
I am living here in uae and planning to build my house in 2011. I would like to know if i should buy a plot in DHA phase 6 or buy a file in phase 8. Looking at lahore map and feedback from some of the members on this forum it seems that phase 8 is going to be a better investment in near future. Also when balloting of phase 8 is expected? Is there any official schedule from DHA on balloting of phase 8

DHA6, you have an option to choose a good location plot vs. DHA8 you may (or may not) trap on bad location. If you have budget my suggestion go for DHA6 plot instead of file. Further I don't see if DHA8 would be ready for construction by 2011. |

I would also recommend DHA Lahore phase 6 over DHA 8. DHA 6 is on ground now and is now getting populated at fastest phase in DHA Lahore. Just this week 5 new houses have started in DHA 6. More population means more chance to gain in price and less risk to go down in prices.
DHA 8 might take another 3 to 5 years to get ready for houses. Just imagine what will be shape of DHA within DHA called DHA Lahore phase 6 in years from now. All mega projects are in and will be in DHA 6. DHA 8 will mainly be a commercial phase and will have and 32 kanal commercial plots along the Broadway. I don't this with too much commercial activity it will be as peace full and attractive as DHA Lahore phase 6.
I will still like to say living life surrounding will be a lot better in DHA Lahore in future but DHA 8 price might be higher in DHA 8 than DHA 6 after 5 years from today.

thanks for your valuable comments.
CMY has specified some comments regarding bahria town in one of the posts above where he has specified that bahria town is the best place to live in lahore. comparing DHA phase 6 and bahria town block A, could CMY tell us which is the better option. As in phase 6 one kanal plot is around 60 lacs while in bahria town block A we can get 2 kanal plot for same price. I request CMY to please enlight us on which one is a better buy. |

Imran bhai there is no match of DHA Lahore and Bahria town. Entire Bahria town is smaller than DHA phase 5 alone.
DHA is DHA. Bahria town have better development and lower rates but DHA have top class location lot of jobs every branch of top class education collages and schools and have branch of every top class shoping chains and restaurant. |

But do not miss the point after how many years has DHA reached this stage. Also comment on the access and approach to DHA. Also compare the congestions within DHA. Also talk of non DHA traffic thru the heart of DHA Ghazi Road or what ever it is called.
Residential and commercial communities have different parameters.Both have minu/plus. and can not be compared.
The only uncomparable plus point for DHA is the active 'fauji'association in its managements, where as Bahria and other are Private.
As a personal choice for residence I would like Bahria/Sukh Chayn. With a commercial tinge DHA. |
