Regarding some earlier posts about relocating back home (e.g. Post 45088), there were a few brothers who touched upon security situation back home and mentioned how kidnapping for ransom is prevalent and increasing. These are some very serious issues to be considered whether expats visit or decide to relocate back home.
How serious/real/often are these security threats and what cane be done to safeguard ones is visiting with family or decides to relocate back home? Or are we blowing this topic up based on a few incidents?

Think this may have blown bit out of proption... i visted recently for a week after 2 years and thanks Allah everything went fine
overall it's a shame we are visting our own countries are and having valid concerns and feel safe when visting other countries, this is due to some bastards people of our own... |

It is a valid concern so I will not rule out anything. I persaonlly heard so many stories like these. But its not only for expats, its also for ppl living there. Look at what happened last month in Lahore, 10 yr kid kidnaped, ransom paid and then he was shot and it was during RAMADAN. Seucrity situation in Pakistan is really bad for everyone. |

Crimes happen everywhere and the situation is not like uganda or Somalia, Alhamdulillah. However, keeping a very low profile is maximum what anyone can do and should do. Also, be very very careful and vigilant when you are moving and on the street or even if travelling in car. |

In a year generally an average overseas Pakistani spent his 3 months salaries while living abroad, 3 months money his family spent in Pakistan while 3 months he spends on shopping prior to vacation and remaining 3 months he spend in one month when he is on vacation.
Now you can imagine when a man spends his 3 months salaries in a month how he will look like. This makes a negative impact on locals and they get wrong impression as life is a heaven abroad.
While you know who the life is here in general. The perfume shoes sockes he is using on holidays he has hardly used in whole year.
What I want to prove here, if one lives in low profile and join the one you belongs to there is no issue but if you show your self different and not help them to improve but nag and dislike every thing they do, you will have problems. |

Just keep in mind Pakistan has open border with Afghanistan and Iran.
Alone in Afghanistan Indian agencies are operating in collaboration with CIA and RAMA (former Khad) and both hate Pakistan and Pakistanis.
In Islamabad foreign embassies have enough wepons to blow up the whole state.
I see no reason to not believe that US embassy and Indian emabssies house Atomic bomb as a plan 'C' solution.
private militias are roaming around freely and people of Pakistan are being made slave to Indina supremacy by avrious channels. |
