Dear Mr atiq raja, It is your right to express your point of view but I humbly request don’t ever suggest any one not to invest in Pakistan. This is our motherland and the country needs you more when there are crises. I know you have your route in UK but this country has given you better living respect and dignity otherwise I know what an Asian are like ... in UK. |

I love my motherland and have invested there but end of the day if I invest I expect a return. Yeah invest in Pakistan from emotional point of view but don't expect any return, good one. |

Warren Buffett an American billionaire once said that invest when no one dare and scare to invest and do not invest when everyone is going crazy to invest. |

If you have to ask others for advice about what to invest in then perhaps you shouldn't invest in the first place. People who are successful in business follow their own hearts and mind. The ones that need others to guide them invariably fail. |

People say investing in Pakistan is not advisable for overseas Pakistanis. May I know what great opportunities of investment exist in foreign countries such as US UK or UAE? I do not know of anyone who has made any money in stocks in the USA over the last ten years. Dow was close to 10,000 over 10 years ago. It is still at 10,000 even though their dollar has devalued in the mean time. Rate of interest offered by banks on accounts and CDs is at rock bottom. Anyone who purchased a house after 2005 in the US or UK is weeping today and getting ready for foreclosure. We all know what has happened in UAE, just last week they have gone through a de facto default. If as an overseas Pakistani you just want to keep your money in foreign currency and benefit from the devaluing rupee that is something even Pakistanis can do in Pakistan. I don't know what exactly the regulations are but it seems that anyone can open up a foreign currency account in a bank, purchase the currency from the open market and make a deposit. So this avenue is not just limited to overseas Pakistanis. I think money can be made in any country including Pakistan even in the present economic times. It is not about the country, it is about your knowledge of the country and the opportunities available there. If you are buying stocks you should have good knowledge of the company and why that company will make profit in the future. If you are buying property you should have extremely good knowledge of the area and its development schemes. Stay away from things you don't understand well. Same is true for starting a business. Foreign countries have better law and order situation which is a great plus for them but we have a large very young population which is a big plus for us. Once again: May I know what great opportunities of investment exist in foreign countries such as US UK or UAE? |

When you invest money in Pakistan your loss is twofold. One your property looses value and secondly your rupee looses value too. If you really love your country give her your "sincerity" Leave party, province, race or language and do what is good for the country.Never support dishonest people.Afterall these looters came to power with our votes. How many times are we going to be bitten from the same hole? |
