My son and daughter are studying in University of Lahore (UOL) and am planning to move to Lahore near by the UOL for the facility of kids. I look forward for my brothers/sisters opinion on this forum to guide me as to where I should buy house which should be closer to UOL and safer place as my husband will continue his job in Jeddah. Also please guide me for a nearby good School for my son studying in Class 9.

Readers please spar sometime to guide me particularly from safety point of view. Thanks a lot.

i need your experiance for UOL as they are charging huge amount for MBBS/BDS
but BS enginneering seems to be okay

Dear Dr.

I believe, you would go for Bahria Town, Valencia, or EME Society. As it is closer to Thoker Niaz Baig and in short distance to UOL.

These societies are much safer and have very good security systems. I prefer to have Bahria Town, Raiwind Road, Lahore

Respectable Dr. Sahiba, there are many housing societies around UOL on Raiwind Road, like Judicial Colony, Nawab Town, Green Fort or Aitchison College Staff Housing Society etc. It all depends upon your budget. You can choose DHA EME sector or Green Fort and even can have one in aitchison staff housing society.
Some streets opposite to Sheikh Zayed's Palace are quite safe (where Police X-high officials reside). Judicial colony also has "gated" boundry, EME and Green Fort are also good in terms of security.
Bahria Town is also a very good option but is 15+ kilometer away!

Sukh Chayn is a gated community with excellent security. For people who have extensive living abroad should select this, for reason of security and excess, both thru canal, Multan Road and Defence road.Must visit this place whenever to plan to live/buy/rent a house.

Many thanks for all brothers giving their valued comments and suggestions. Well, I like Sukh Chayn and will visit this society when I visit Pakistan in a couple of months.

Brother Adnan - I agree with u about MBBS/BDS fees is tooooooooo high. I have an extensive experience in this field as my dauther tried to get admission in MBBS in Govt Institutes but the merit is not only high but the higest. Last year and this year the agrigated percentage was above 82 % to get admission in any Govt Institute through out Punjab. Last year the entry test was conducted by KEMC but this year they shifted to UHS. In short, it is very difficult to get admission in Govt Institute but as you asked for UOL, but I will suggest for PMDC or Fatima Memorial in Shadman.

Just a follow up. Bahria Phase B which is close to Sukh Chayn has a great school. Plus lot of good schools on Raiwind Road/Thokar.

The Aitchison College Society land was extensievly grabed by the Peoples Party Amjad Jutt, Younas etc .
Recently the Lahore high court did take notice of the mafia threats in this area,and the plea that the jutt land mafia was not enttiled to sell land to the society at the time of sale is suspended now.
So be sure to buy land from the society office only and not any other fake registries by jutt mafia which are suspended by the lahore high court.
Justice Sharif is yet to give his final judgement in a months time.
