Dear Readers and fellow decent pakistanis,
Can you please tell me how to evict my tenants who refuse to leave. I have given them 2 years notice, written, I also have an agreement that they will leave and if they dont they will pay me a set amount which they are refusing. I am not a gunda, I am a decent law abiding overseas Pakistani.
Please advice

2 years notice??? Since your tenant is crook, he will never leave your premises until you negotiate some bargain by involving some elites of your area. To my understanding, as you are away from Pakistan, he is taking undue advantage of you being away. In Pakistan law never helps owners of property and lawyers as well. I have come across the same situation 3/4 years ago at DHA Lahore. I suffered a lot financially and emotionally. I was able to evict him by paying him some money through 3rd party. For crooks agreements have no value other than a piece of paper. Is he paying the rent on time? This is most important. My advice is do not seek courts recourse or help of gundas. Looks like you have exhausted all efforts to evict your tenant, but please be patient and try to involve some influential people of your area and try to get some written understanding from your tenant. Hi, I have tried to involve influential people they agree to leave by a certain date and then dont, these tenants have no shame. They want to pay rent which is well below market and they wont leave. I am so fed up of Pakistan and the pakistani way of cheating, lying and backstabbing. Is it worth applying to the courts for a eviction notice? and how do u enforce it? |

If your property is in DHA, Cantt or Bahria Town I think society might be able to help.
Don't involve Police/Courts/gundas(same thing in Pakistan) because you will end up loosing more money.
You are left with two options pay your tenants off and/or involve so called influential people.

Don't give these people incentive to leave as that is rewarding bad behaviour and only encourages them to do the same elsewhere. It will encourage this practice further. I would suggest that you speak to a lawyer or a property agent who should be able to advice you as to the right course of action. Many people rent out property in Pakistan and there must be a mechanism to evict tenants. I agree with someone else that crooks are not bound by agreements. |

you are citizen of pakistan than why worry about it ?I have a plot in Karachi and one resource full person of Pakistan Ranger live there and he takes stay-order from court 10 years before because he don’t like neighbors around his house so we 20 poor person can not make home our own plot You can imagine what a corrupted mind of this officer and as well as judge.give a stay order on empty plot . |

Learn a lesson, never give house on rent lesser than market, And always keep on asking for hike at the pace of Market. When tenants are living at far below rent than market, they get shock when you ask them to find house. |

If you have documentation to prove that this is yours property and you have rented it out, go to a reasonable lawyer. The Law course will take 2 to 2-1/2 years and yours house will be vacated through court. In the meanwhile your tenant will deposit all the rent in court for this period. |

I have experienced the same problem. My parents allowed a family member to stay at our property until he could find a place to live. That was 16 years ago. He is not paying rent and refuses to leave. What options are there for us in Pakistan? We are Pakistanis living overseas. |

you may give notice of eviction to that family under subsection 2 of section 13 of Punjab rented premises act 2009 and after serving the notice you can file an application to Rent controller under sub section 3 of section 13 of the same act |

hi, two of my brother living with me in a house gifted by my father, initially they agreed (verbal) to pay rent to me but after death of my father they stop paying rent and demanding shares from me, now how i evict my brother from my property. |
