Why were they allowed to open an investigation unit in a purely residential area and inside a house. Fearing a terrorist attack the nearby residents complained several times to several different government departments and also the Model Town society but this investigation unit still remained. They used to bring terrorists and other criminals in that residential neighbourhood for interrogation. It seems the residents' fear was right and today they had to pay for this with their blood. Govt must put maximum effort to isolate such offices and interrogation centers from the residential areas and general population.

I think Model Town society is also equally to be blamed for their criminal negligence.

no check and balance for commercial use of houses in model town... due to its excellent location around 10% house rented for commercial activities including schools, private/govt, call center offices etc ...

its the real difference between DHA and model town society management..

location and environment/greenery wise model town is best but worst management there :(

This kind of terrorism can happen anywhere but I agree that model town scheme management or residents representative body would have been able to avoid such incident to a great degree had they enforced strict by laws like defence. I have never seen a commercial sign not even a minor one at a residential plot or home ever.

Apart from being security risk it is very annoying when the residents privacy is compromised due to mushrooming businesses, schools, clinics and guest houses etc in residential buildings. Model town is a well planned and beautiful town but in regarding to having strict bylaws and strict enforcement there is a lot to do.

according to best of my knowledge from last 8 months case was in court for vaccation of this area by model town society. but who can win with gun.so modle town society inspite of its best efforts could not get vacatted and this tradgedy occured.

dear brothers.
very very sad happening of Today.
this all happened because the investigation unit was in residential area.
actually this should be outside the residential areas But we all know that so many such units are under custody of the police in lahore and in many other cities of Punjab which are being used for CHITEROL purpose.
a lot of videos of such things has been brught up by the media in recent days.when the police will be sign of fear for common public,a poor citizen will not have a say and will not be allowed to enter FIR accidents of jajalpur bhatian,Bhawana and daska will be a part of daily job by police then ,youth will be compeled to go in wrong hands.
when police will punish openly to youth for mobile snatching as they did in Bhawana and in Gulberg...when the police will dis respect in this manner then i will be right to say that these are the largest nursery for the production of bad taliban and terrorists who target these police statations and investigation units just to take their revenge...
in all this also the innocent are also being killed..
the way by which police investigates is rutheless...
to punish a person openly,torture them like animals and to make them nude....then what should we expect from the victims for police>..??
strange thing is this that we do not have any law by which an innocent who was tortured by police can claim his right against this policeman.
when we have courts and majisterate has right to give remand to accused,then how police itself can torture without remand.
and no court takes action against this...
does this mean that cheif justice is not so serious in this because all this happening in punjab which have rule of PML_N ,the party who did long march for CJ.
if police has right to torture like this,then can police also torure NRO people because they also have allegation and have Fir against them.
in Bwana ,i will say that those 100 people are also guilty who were watching all this show in which innocent were being beaten by 5 Policeman and they were watching.
now we have also news that policeman are also involved in decoity and robbery.
when standered of police are like this then how we can say that how are these less then bad taliban ..
sad thing is that people like rana sana Ullah was also defending police on media.
i hope that media will follow till these policemen will get the last punishment as without follow up they again came back in department after some time.
this is time when we have to make police independent from politice,we need fresh and educated blood in police,all old policemen should be sent with golden handshake and strict accountability of police is needed by local civil society..

This bombing, and most of the othes, are collateral damage from the US intervetion in South Asia. The cancer is the foreign intervention, foreign occupation, and drone bombings. When the cancer is no longer there, the bombings will stop.
