Assalam Alaikum,
I want to move Pakistan after my retirement. I saved some Rs12 million. I want to buy 2 plots in defense or some same kind of scheme. Can some body advice me which will be the good for 2 years investment. Some one told me to buy a commercial plot in defense and make a building to rent it. How much a small commercial plot and the construction cost with possible rental income. Can I lease it to some company? Your sincere advice will help me to make my mind.

Dear Mr. Shahid,
I am also overseas return person and settled in Lahore. I am also thinking the way like you to take a small com. plot, build plaza, rent out it. But unfortunately the picture is now totally changed in Pakistan. In DHA hundreds of plazas are empty and no companies are interested even in low rent. You can find many new plazas in DHA and banners are written for rent. You cannot get good return of your investment if you take a plot and make a plaza especially in the current situation - nobody knows about the future.
I can suggest you to purchase an Office or Apartment at Siddiq Trade Centre and you can get good rent. It is best plaza in Lahore. Office price of 1200 sft is around 80 lacs and you can get rent around 60,000 pm.
2nd option is to get plot of 8 M com. in Bahria Town sector C around 50 lacs and make plaza there after 2 years you may get good return as this area will be developed fastly in future.
Third option is to keep the money in Bankislami and get halal profit every month and save yourself from any tension.
Please think many times before you decide as all returned overseas are facing big problems in Pakistan as they have no good option to invest and get good return.

For renting purpose. You may want to buy 3 plots of 10 marla in Bahria town in Sector-C and construct double story house on each plot and then live in one and rent others.
You can rent each story from 12-15 thousands per month. |

My advice is: Build a 30,000 bird poultry farm (Controlled Shed)with that amount and you will make close to 500k per month, in some months it can go even higher. |
