Brothers,

I intend to invest in Pakistan. Due to ruppee devaluation, should I wait or invest now. Last time I invested two years ago, ruppee was at 60 compared to $. I am afraid once I invest another caror, at 85, the ruppee will devalue to 100. What shall I do, wait or invest now? :h :h :h

My friend,

You are talking about "CARORS" and still afraid to invest this huge money!!

Just think of people who cannot afford to get two times meal even!!
People who cannot afford their own one room home even!!

My dear, if you have spare money, please start some charity work and help the poors.

Dear Khan, I understand your frustation and I wish all who are blessed by God should contribute to Zakat and welfare.

On the other hand, Dear Investor, Pakistan is no more a good place to invest. If you are entering fisrt time to pakistan investment, think twice. unluckily we as whole nation have turned into corrupt. Exceptions are there but those people are living miserable lives, who belive on values.

Your question is regard to investment so lets focus on that.
You are right about the possibility of ruppee will devalue and it will go to 100. I heard Shaukt Tareen ex Finance Minister mention on same line regard to ruppee devalue.
American market is in recession and dollar is week, but eventully American market will come out of recession and dollar will be strong and ruppee will devalue.

I also think that realestate market in Pakistan will also eventully stablize where profit margin/market appreciation will be gradual not like stock market change every day or every hour.

So I would say think twice and invest wisely.

regards

All,

Don't worry I do pay my zakat regularly and do charitable work. This is also hard earned halal money. Just because I am investing does not mean that A. I don't pay Zakat B. My money is earned from haram means C. I don't do any charitable work and D. I am being wasteful. In fact I view that by investing in Pakistan for this particular project I will be hiring anywhere from 5 to 10 people for about 6 months giving them earning during that time.

If investing in Pakistan is that bad, then why are all of you brothers visiting this website for?

My biggest concern is that even if during American recession Pak Ruppee went from 60 to 85, what will happen when Dolla and American market will strengthen? Just from this fact, it appears that no one from west should inves in Pakistan any more; only people needing a plae to stay within Pakistan should buy properties. Right?

simply it is not the time for investment in Pakistan in any sector, even life is not secure, governmen declare war,the time of investment depends after war, hope and pray that country must win the war other wise........

As I always say, capital flows freely only when there is complete law and order situation. and ‘Law and order’ is only possible with honest leadership, not the one we have right now. So, for the investment, as Atiq bhai said, this is not the right time.

All,

Thank for your honest advices. I really appreciate them all! Let me ask you the same question a different way with a bit more information:

- Bought a plot in D-12 a few years back.
- Thinking of building the house on the plot now.
- My total investment (plot + house) will be around 1.5 caror.
- My goal is to sell the house hopefully for a profit in the future.
- NOTE: I don't need to sell the house until at least 5 years or later.

Based on the above details, do I still skip investing building the house and just sit on the plot? Note I will take a loss on plot selling now due to ruppee depreciation.

Thank you!

having a house is a pride and gives you respect and dignity no matter what value it has but for sure if house gets appreciated in price gives satisfaction. The answer to your question is do construct your house if you are in need otherwise this is not ever growing investment
