Dear all brothers,

Can you please let me know which university is best for the B.Sc - engineering degree in Pakistan. Also which degree is best such as Mechanical, Electronics, Chemical, Computer Science etc.
How is about UOL and UMT in Lahore - are they also good?

UET Lahore ,world recoganized university.In others, NUST and GIK are good but admission depends on merit.

Electrical Engineering (Electronics/communication) shall remain the best for next century in the world wide and also in PAK and shall stay at top in terms of merit and job oppurtunities.

Regarding UOL and UMT, these are private institutions and are good,if someone is unable to get admission in UET,NUST or GIK.

If you want to work abroad then the best one is computer science. Its hot if you know the subject.

I believe, you should stay with core engineering filed, which is electrical..it fits you in most of the places in the filed somway or the other.

Thanks for all for your reply. I will give entry test on July 3 of PIEAS University in Islamabad, on 4th of GIKI, on 8th of FAST, on 18th of NUST. I also intend to do Elect. Engr in Electronics, if not then Mechanical, if not then Computer Science.
I want to work in Saudi Arabia after the degree, but some people say that BSc. in CS is not very much demanded there as it will be a software engineer, and companies have their own software programmes.
Some people say that GIKI is in remote area and has no standard as it was in the past due to leaving many its teachers due to situation.
So I will try first in PIEAS, NUST, FAST, UET, if not succeeded then
UOL which is also near to my house. Thanks for your comments.

In all the above mentioned fields you will have to study further after your degree to really succeed. Please do the course you find interesting.

I know people who did Engineering (not SE) at UET and have good in Saudia Arabia/Middle East.

I dont know how many of these people who have replied to your post are engineers. Being an engineer i have worked in saudia and now working in uae. If you want to work in saudia then best degree is chemical or petroleum engineering. Apply in university of punjab lahore, chemical engineering department, and specialize in petroleum engineering (optional). Second best is mechanical. Computer science and electrical engineering look good on uet merit list only and someone who has just passed his F.Sc. can give you such advise as going for electrical or computer science if you want to work in saudia or middle east.
