AoA,
If fees are not your problem, please let him continue with A-Level....

I wont recommend an I-com even if u do it from GC....

dont waste his time and future as u said he is normal in study its 100 time gud technical education as compare to theoratical.in pak when sum one goes in practical life there is no use of these theoratical. its better u put him in technical education. teachnical education have lot of demand in Dubai , Sudi and pak also according to me.
government job can be achieved through pawa and private job can be achieved through experience and own ability to handle work.
i think tech education is best for him. if he not got job he can start on base of this his own bussiness.

I faee same problem but my guidence will help you to select right choice for your son.
1. Your son has subjects of Commerce. Do not go for A Level or dont go for I-Com.
2. If his age is 16 he is elegible for CAT registration. Go ahead and register him in Cat Immidiately you have short of time.
3. If he has Accounts & IT subjects in O Level he will be given Exemption from T-1, T-2 & T-3 Inshallah proper guidence will be given.
4. Ignore T-4 Subject now at this present Time. Get classes for T-5, T-6, T-7, (Two out of T-8, T-9, T-10).
5. If he select T-8 Audit will help in F-8. If he select T-9 TAX will help F-6. If he select T-10 will help in F-9) T for CAT subject and F for ACCA subject. My Advice to select T-9 & T-10) Ignore T-8.
6. If registration successfully done and elegible to sit in Exam of Dec-2010 for these 5 Subjects this is good news for you so start the classes dont after Exam result of O Level which is expected now Mid of Aug Inshallah.
7. When he will exam of 5 sunjects in up to Mid of Dec-2010 go for classes of T-4 and sit on line exam in Mid of Jan you will get result same time when he finish the exam of T-4.
8. If you child Inshallah pass 5 subject plus T-4 and Exemption of T-1,2,3 It mean CAT finish with in 6 Months. With the result they will Declare F-1, F-2 & F-3 will be exempted because of CAT.

I am 100% agreed with AA, I done my graduation and am running a workshop in Kuwait. I feel that if I have done my diploma in some technical field I could do lot better which am doing now. (ALHAMDUILLAH it is ok at least I have some education but technical eduction is much much better and it helps a lot when you come in to some field work)

China is a great place, my friend is doing his PhD from Beijing university. He and his family love it. People are nice, only place in the world where Pakistani's have some respect. I was also visting China and really liked it, its the future. Alot of expats live and work there. I live in US and kids are encouraged to learn chinese, alot of people have moved to China for good living. my 2 cents.

Assalam-o-alaykum

I am a student who have an O-level and A-level background and is doing ACCA. I very well understand the gravity of your problem and have 2 suggestions for you:

1. At first, it would be advisable for your son to pursue an A-level qualification after O-level as this would logically develop his career in a defined manner, which will not only build up his personality but also prepare him for future hurdles. (A-level is a recognized academic qualification all over the world)

2. Secondly, I would agree with Mr. Mohammad Anwar hussain, and advise you to pursue ACCA (Association of Charted Certified Accountant) and start off with CAT. This qualificatoin has become quite popular in the past few years and is in great demand nowadays.
As your son has a commerce background with "accounting" as his subject, it would be no problem for him...

Hmm, I agree with Arsalan...
ACCA is a very good qualificatoin... go for that...
