I have heared that they have reached a point where depletion rate is quite high and soon Govt is expected to withdraw ALL SUBSIDIES on every item.
Also current situation is not that good i.e. if Brunei nationals are working hard to get their living go (not like UAE) then it mean for expats will be more tough.
One of my friends friend is in Brunei. I will try to get contact for you and then send you to hav chit chat with him.

Thanks for updating, will appreciate if you can provide me contact of your friend in Brunei.

I am on US assignment in Brunei, so shouldn't be having any problem in case I need to leave Brunei.

The concern was cost of living in Brunei compared to UAE, and environment for living there.
