To Moderator: Not exactly a property related question but can you please leave the request for a day or two?
I will be visiting Lahore(areas like Cantt, DHA, BT) soon for 3-4 months. I am looking for a reliable 3G broadband service provider. I will need to be online continuously for 6-7 hours daily even during load shedding (laptop can run 2-3 hrs without main power). I already have a 3G dongle/usb stick just need a SIM. Can someone please recommend a good 3g broadband provider? SK replied on Sunday, September 5, 2010 06:37 AM

Hi SK, 3G on GSM is not available in Pakistan yet. We only have GPRS/EDGE. You can get a SIM from any of the operators like Mobilink, Telenor, Warid etc. for that but the speed will not be too good. The best option for you is to get the USB dongle from PTCL EVO, which is based on EVDO technology and gives you 3G speeds. You can get the dongle for around Rs.4000/- and the per month charges are between 600 to 1200 per month depending on the speed and download limit you want. Rs. 1200/- gives you unlimited download and 2MB/s speed I think. Hope this information is of help to you. Thanks |

Anwer and Arshad thank you for replying. Looking at different options I can see PTCL is probably the best option? http://ptcl.com.pk/contentb.php?NID=297 I was just hoping to utilize my existing dongles but I do not think they support EVDO only EDGE/GPRS. Are you guys able to confirm when the load shedding happens mobile/3G/EVDO network keeps working(hopefully towers contain UPSs)? The coverage is ok in areas like Cantt, Sadar, DHA? When you say no VoIP I assume you mean services like Skype? Thanks |

Hi SK, Yes I think in terms of mobility, coverage and speed, PTCL EVO is the quite good. The coverage should be pretty good in the areas you have mentioned and yes they keep working during loadshedding. Arshad Bhai just to set the record straight. Wateen's technology is not 3G but WiMax. |

As same as the original designer shoes, Batshoes christian louboutins fakes and christian louboutin pumps are long-lasting. They are also comfortable as much as the originals. |
