My feeling is Granite is better than marble in kitchen, bathrooms and even in bed rooms and tv lounge & d/d ec. But in outer portion, like garage, and side passage, marble is recommended.

In house wooden work is very expensive.how we can minimize this expenditure.and secondly can we bring it from nwfp coz there wood is cheap.sum one told me u can bring it as it is n then prepare it in isb.if u wil make it ready door then custum ppl wil charge from u.

Granite is better, but be careful in selecting good quality of Granite. Do not buy Chinese synthetic granite. Also try to buy granite wit 1 inch thikness

Rate of different local stone slabs are 150-350 rs. per sq ft and black indian/ pakistani/african granite is available in Islamabad/ Rawalpindi markets in rs.350-750 per sq ft. Normally, people use granite in kitchen and other stone labs are used in bath rooms.

Granite is a denser(harder)material than marble and therefore has more shine after polishing. Besides being a lot more expensive than marble it has slight natural radioactivity. Personally I would not use it extensively around the house. It looks beautiful on Kitchen counter tops and is sometimes also used on stairs.

For general flooring of the house marble is a better choice because it comes in so many attractive textures suitable for flooring besides being cost effective. Make sure to select the kind of marble that is relatively denser in order to get more shine. Botasina Cream, Parlino and Botasina Flower are some of the popular choices.

I see no reason to put granite or marble in washrooms when there are so many beautiful local and Chinese tiles available for that purpose. I think marble will quickly become dirty and loose shine when placed in washrooms.

Habib bhai's question was limited to Kitchen and Washrooms only but let me point out that some people use cheap quality marble on outside front walls of the house as well as on drive ways. This looks very cheesy. Personally I cannot stand it. A house painted in earth tone colors and having simple cement driveway looks way more decent.

I understand there is abundant synthetic Granite , bascally it is Chips slaps which are made in high pressure casting with Glazed surface, it has many qulities and most is imported, Can someone throw light on price and experience of their use.

I used it (synthetic) and I see its color fading, so in my next project I will not use it

My question is that i heard that Botasina marble mein kuch duration ke baad keerra lag jaata hai because of that is mein kuch cracks aa jaatey hain. Is that true? Can someone let me know which marble is better for flooring Botasina or China Varoona and are there B quality marbles in these categories? How to check A quality?
