I was expecting a fair verdict from US Court. But they have disappointed me. But I still believe in the streght and fairness of US and Western Justice System. It is their greatest strength. Their Justice System is the major diffrentiating factor between them and us (the backword nations).
US has lost a big opportinity to win Pakistani's hearts. This decision will, however, make the extremists strengthened unfortunately.
However, the Most Supreme Aadil is Allah (SWT) and InshaAllah justice will be done with sister Aafia...if not in this world then Hereafter and she will InshaAllah be compensated.

i think rarely in some cases based on international politics, the justice system budges to the govt. For internal matters it is very best |

While there justice system is a lot better than ours, it is not impervious to manipulation. First of all the attorney general of the state has the power to decide whether to bring up charges in the court or just drop it based on the complete circumstances of the case, he decided to prosecute despite knowing the true facts behind how she got there.
In this case the prosecution focused on one and only one event i.e. Dr. Aafia's knee jerk reaction upon seeing the American solders. They did no touch any part of her five years long ordeal AT ALL. No terrorism charges, nothing just so the true picture does not come up in front of the jury and the world. Even for that highly isolated charge, they focused on witness accounts only, THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY BULLET MARKS ON THE WALLS TO SHOW. Still they won their case because the venue of the trial was manipulated. The jury should not have been selected from New York where 9/11 took place.
The US media plays up any important news day and night analyzing it from every angle but in this case the media helped in manipulating the public opinion by not analyzing her life story at all making her look like just another terrorist. This is how they manipulate to support their soldiers and national security agencies. Look at there other high profile cases. O.J Simpson was acquitted by the jury thanks to manipulation by the defense lawyers and racial bias of the jury even though American public knows fully well that he committed the murder. Don't be too trusting of Goras or their systems. |

They are still much better than us. In our system they would "create" bullet marks as and when necessary. In the west they don't go that far. |
