DHAI Overseas sector Cancelled,

DHAI has decided to drop the plan to develop Overseas Sector, which it sold to overseas Pakistanis for 85000 US dollars per kanal.
Now they have planned to offer plots to all the affected people in phase II - which is already developed.

That is v v good news for investors, it like getting a plot in phase 6 for phase 9,10 file.It has far better location even if DHA 2 commenrs Though these investors payed lot of money like 6.5 million for this when market was on its peaks still there is some loss. but much less than losing total amount.
I dont know exact reasons to scrap that project. my own research about this was.
1.Very difficult topography
2. lack of land acquisition.
3. lack of water supply [dam which had to supply water to this project including DHA valley had been scrapped eariler due to low feasibility.

i wonder why DHAI website still showing Overseas Sector.
I HAVE SEEN & READ THE LETTER ISSUED BY DHAI TO THE AFFECTED MEMBERS.
It says DHAI has decided not to develop Overseas sector due to slum in property market; however, to compensate the members dhai will allot plots to them in phase-II by ballot, date of which will be announced later-on.

$85,000 x Rs.84 = Rs. 71,40,000

Aren't open market plots in DHA2 available for 50-65 laks?

If above is correct, and DHAI is maintaining a dollar account, then DHAI is making ~ 5-20 lak profit or am I missing something here?

@ Abdullah - u r not missing anything except that during launch of the project $ was at rupee 60. However, DHAI maintain that overall all the sectors have suffered in terms of loss, therefore, there is no much difference. Also note that in DHAI-II 1 Kanal plots are available from 35 lacs and go as high as 80 lacs.

Abdullah qureshi, when these plots were booked people were hyped by euphoria, ever since all the property has lost about 1/2 of its value. Now if some one say I bough DHA 8 file in 80 Lac and You are giving a plot in DHA phase 8 worth 30 Lac there is some thing missing here so give my 80 lac back

FACT ABOUT DHAI:
DHAI grabbed around 3 times more money in Yr-2005 from overseas customers than the prices of ph-2 plots in ISD. In addition to this DHAI also taken development charges which were first set as PRS.600,000.00 LATER ENHANCED TO US$.14,000.00.
Now after charging for Diamond, Silver is being offered in shape of remote plots lying at the end of PH-2 sector. Is this justified. Is this not a buff. This is what DHAI is doing to its customers.
DHAI informed to develop overseas sector in 2 to 2 1/2 years, instead of accepting the failure and providing a due compensation, DHAI is not entertaining to any complaints and requests and keeping adding to public miseries.
What is the value left for the amount paid 6 years before.
Same amount could have yielded good amount of profit, had it been invested here in overseas. Further value of the proerty could had been doubled. DHAI simply cheated the poor overseas sector customers. Lets hope that Allah's rule of "makafate amal" will prevail and DHAIL & its management will be set accountable in this world as well as hereafter.

Just add the overseas sector price+develop. charges paid 6 years before
