Harris Steel Mill Scam replied on Monday, February 14, 2011 08:12 AM

LAHORE - The main accused involved in the Haris Steel scam have a long history of committing bank frauds.
Before plundering billion of rupees from the Bank of Punjab, it was Faysal Bank and Allied Bank that have been robbed by these people identified as the main culprits in the Harris Steel Mill scam by both the NAB and the internal audit of the BoP. Who is who of the main characters involved in this scam are as below.
Haris is the son of Sheikh Afzal. He alone owns about 130 luxury houses in the big cities of the Punjab, mostly in the posh areas of Lahore. The net worth of these houses is worth billion of rupees, according to the NAB findings. But the bureau is not sure where the rest of the money obtained from the Punjab bank in the name of Haris industry, has gone. The NAB findings also revealed that owners of this fake Harris Steel Mill invested about Rs 4 billion in the real estate business.
Sheikh Afzal is the owner of Haris Steel, named after his son Haris (mentioned above). It is note worthy here that on ground there is no such thing as Haris Steel Industries.
Afzal’s brother Seth Yaqoob, before this scam, had got loans worth over Rs 270 million from Faysal Bank in the name of Sadia Ghee Mills and Iram Ghee Mills.

I want to place a bid for ph-5 ext. file. Is it safe to place bid like this? I mean can there be court issues in future? What bid i should place? Are there extra charges involved? I will really appreciate experts feedback.

Its not ebay where you place bid. Rather contact LRE at numbers give at the top of the page and they will help in finding what you desire.

Hi Ali,

I know it is not ebay :) ... I just wanted to know the procedure and risks involved in these kind of auctions. Also, any idea abt how much bid should be placed for ph-5 ext. file will be very helpful to me.

Hilarious comment by the way :)

Thanks
Ahmad

Phase-5 ext file seller is at 22.50 according to LRE rates & hence you can place your bid according to that, normally margina less than 50,000/- . You can talk to LRE (03004009967 or 03224009967) and they will provide you full details. Also this matter has been discussed here few days back. I think dealing through a DHA authorized dealer will save a lot of headache & LRE is one of the authorized dealer, other dealers you can find on the DHA lahore website. :)
