Call for a change in Pakistan
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Call-for-a-change-in-Pakistan/

If you agree then 'Like' it and pass it to as many Pakistanis as you can.

I think rather than demanding just change of government, Pakistani's should demand change of this system. Like at least the following points...

• Each citizen should have right to directly vote in all state matters (like legislative and executive), or vote through any eligible representative of her choice

• Each citizen should have right to change her vote at any time, with representatives loosing or gaining their political weight according to their current votes

• Governance powers should be brought closest possible to citizens, bulk of it at least down to District level

• Each citizen should have easy access (say online access) to all useful information of all activities funded by public taxes, except information which may affect national security or other citizens' privacy

• Wherever possible, government processes should be updated to use latest technologies

These things are possible with today's technologies, similar to e-commerce, online banking, mobile banking, ATMs, online accounting systems, portable camera's, online surveillance, video-conferencing, GPS-GSM trackers, GSM enabled utility meters etc

The survival of Pak depends on following but not limited to:-

1. All those who contested in any type of election ever since inception of Pak should be disallowed to contest for ever.

2. The loans written off by the banks should be recovered on summary trial basis.

3. Land reforms should be done just as did India soon on independence.

4. The candidates in election must be from middle class with at least master degree education.

5. The Corruption should be a criminal act punishable with only death penalty without any appeal or plea bargain whatsoever.

The most corrupt leaders in Pakistan are Mian Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shehbaz Sharif. Last year Nawaz who is one of the richest man in south west asia paid five thousands rupees tax to tax department, whose family have more than 30 factories in Pakistan and transfered more than 550 millions us dollors from saudi arabia to uk where his son is doing business.

Dear Naveed,

I totally agree with your proposal and commit myself to take part. I would suggest though that this should start at first with an indoor meeting to plan the gathering and then actually have this kind of gathering. This type of suggestions have come from you and others before but then no progress is made on them. Let us actually DO something.

I am disappointed to see the comments after your post which clearly shows that most of us still do not have the courage to stand up. We just like to raise complain and if someone tells you to rise and do something yourself we hide away in our homes.

limu replied on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 06:35 AM

Excellent suggestions by Naveed, and there cant be a better time than this to initiate such a movement. Whole of the middle east is almost shaken up with the people's uprising and resistence against the monarchies. But one must not ignore the fact that all of these monarchies have strong amercican backing since long, so in my opinion its mainly the anti american sentiments in these regions that has kind of boosted and intensified the momentum much needed for a successful revolution. I fully agree with naveed and strongly believe that its the system that needs to be changed and not the faces. Now what kind of system do we, the people of pakistan want !!! its a very big question and needs to be well debated and settled first before we go ahead.

Habib replied on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 09:33 AM

I Dont Know how much time Pakistani nation will take to realize that these are real problems nay angel from heaven comes you will face same things. People need to to realize that facts only then any reforms will be effective.
