Mr cc, One of the reasons that you don't have to pay tax in Pakistan on foreign remittance is because you have already paid tax on that money in the country where you are working (eg: UK). Any money that you earn in UK, you have to pay tax on it. If you have not paid tax in UK, there is a good chance that the taxman will find out, even though tax department don't usually check your bank accounts. But any bank transaction will always be on record so you can't deny it. The tax system in UK is such that sooner or later they will find out so my advise is to never commit tax fraud. If you are caught than you have to pay tax + interest + fine and possible criminal conviction. And don't forget that all the free public services you get in UK like education and health services etc are only possible due to the tax money, so everyone should honestly pay the due taxes. Only if everyone in Pakistan paid tax honestly and the govt used this money for public services, we woud never need to take loan or aid from anyone and could easily become independant. Regards |
