(65508)

My friend live in Barcelona. I use Skype otherwise cell phone cost very high from both end. Someone told me that phone call on landline is very cheap from almost all European countries. Can someone guide if Wateen phone (attached with broadband modem) fall in the category of landline? Or any other option as I don’t have PTCL landline.

Thanks

One Suggestion:
Ask your friend to make two minutes call such that one minute on any PTCL landline and one minute on Wateen number and compare the charges. It will 100% confirms you that wehter Wateen falls in landline category or not?

Do share your experience on this webpage for others benefit also.

Thanks

I am using Barintel service from Qatar and satisfied with the service. It can be used anywhere in the world provided you have fast internet connection. You need to:

1- Get VOIP device from Brain Tel Lahore office situated in Iqbal Town which will cost you about Rs 5000/- (One time cost)
2- You need to deposit Rs 5000/- security (One time cost)
3- You need to buy ADSL wireless modem (Will cost your around AED 300)
4- Need some configuration to configure ADSL modem and device.
5- Bye a standard phone to connect to device
6- Use this phone as normal phone. You will get a Lahore number, so, any body who need to call you from Pakistan, will dial that local number.
7- You can dial any number in Pakistan as you will dial within Pakistan
8- Per minute call costs around Rs 5 when you call to Pakistan.

Braintel and other VoIP (Voice over IP) services are stopped in UAE and Oman by Teleco, But can be used if some knows, how to establish the VPN connection.

Use PTCL Vfone, it is considered 100% landline for incoming overseas calls.

Shahid Saab,

AOA......I am living in West Yorkshire England and ring Pakistan pretty regularly. The best way to tell if a certain telephone number is a Landline or not is from its Dialing Code. For instance if it carries (0)42 Dialing Code (Lahore) then it is a Landline, regardless of the service provider ie. PTCL or World Call. We, in England, are very lucky. We can get free sims of various providers and ring Pakistan Landline for 1 pence/minute and a mobile number for just 4 pence/minute at all times. Current Pound rate is approx.
PRS 138. But I still prefer mighty free Skype with video. And that is also available on my iphone. WSalam
