Plot size confusion for 30x60,

I am confused regarding plot sizes. Is 30x60 7 marla or 8 marla. Few housing societies claim 30x60 as 8 marla while few others as 7 marla. Can anyone please explain?

1 marla = 225 sq.ft.

30X60 = 1800 sq.ft.

1800 / 225 = 8

It is 8 marla

Thanks Yousaf for prompt reply.. Can you please explain how come housing schemes like Gulberg and others mention 30x60 as 7 marla?

In Lahore and Islamabad, 225 sq. feet equal one Marla while in Rawalpindi one marla means 272 sq. feet in some areas and 250 sq. feet in other places.
May be in some areas of Lahore as well, people would measure land on basis of 250 sq. feet per Marla.

The correct dimension for one marla is.16.5 feet multiplied by 16.5 feet = 272.5 sq feet. This is a basic concept taught in all Agri Universities.

The societies and dealers thrive on old understanding of Marla and Kanal. The consumers should use the "square feet" to pay for the land as mostly done in Karachi. This will minimize the chances of miscommunication and will help both the sellers and buyers (but may not be the societies and advertisers who play on the psyche of buyers).

actual measurement is 272 sq=1 marla, but the dishonest and land mafia of big cities making fools people by saying 225 or 250 sq ft. they are dodgging to Allah and people.they will questionable to Allah for this type of frauds.

so 30 X 60 is exactly 6.6 (roughly) 7 marla
